    RTX 2070, latest Studio Driver release (442.19)-- a barroom scene with a couple large texture maps, the largest related to Auto Face Enhancer HD skin (which looks wonderful). I did what I could with Scene Optimizer and Decimator.

    I'm still having luck with mclaugh's unlikely trick-- the freezing has stopped-- and I'll start using ManFriday's Render Queue hopefully soon. I'm still very new to 3D animation so I'm sure there's something I'm missing.

    Sorry to turn this into a Techical Help thread, but like I said the posts in this thread seemed relevant to my problem.

    First are you rendering multiple scenes without closing the old render previews? That keeps those renders in VRAM.

    Second even if you close renders there is a memory leak that impacts running multiple renders during the same session. I recommend shutting down DS and restarting ever few renders.

    Other than that the log says you ran out of VRAM. Why it isn't rendering on CPU could be a RAM issue. If you're using the beta it there is a setting that prevents CPU fallback.

    If not you may not have enough free RAM.
