Invisible Character?

Hi,

I have a suggestion for an invisible character if anyone is interested.

Is it possible to have a character like Genesis, that does everything that Genesis does - only they don't appear when rendered. Their movements do along with any clothing or armour they're wearing, but the actual character doesn't. Like the invisible man.

Would this be possible to do?

Thanks,

Dean

Simply use genesis, pose him then before you render, hide him. Use the Scene tab to do this; there should be an eye next to the character, click it to hide it.

    Oh right,

Thank you! I'll give it a go.

    Cheers.

Or in parameters tab, display menu, turn off Visible in Render.

Or if you want SHADOWS from the invisible figure use Uber Surface Shader and set Fantom to on for all the figure. It is gone but still casts a shadow, also another cool effect.

Here's an "invisible" girl I did for a render contest here a while back.

If you want the figure to show but not really show, dial the opacity down to something like 15% in the surfaces tab.

And and if you want something a bit more like the "Predator"-like or Romulan cloaking effects, don't forget to play a bit with the Refraction.
