a few hours still left on my render but when I can try it, you mean just select each in succession or hold ctl after selecting the object then selecting the camera so both selected?

Yes both have to be selected, so you must hold ctrl. The script checks that 2 items are selected. but it doesn't ckeck that the camera is selected last. I could add check for that.
I tested the script with primitive objects and I find now that it will have to be tweaked for pointing at figures, mainly because the hip is the node that must be selected wich is not really where you normally want to point the camera. Working on it.
