Face Transfer Free not loading

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

I just upgraded to Daz 4.12 and egarly looked for this new plugin and its free trial, but  Window>Pane>Facetranfer is missing.

Looked in the installed Plugins window and it is there, but it says it failed to load/

Any help?

    I've got the same issue. Anyone else?

    Oh, I'm haveing this issue with the free version of the plug in. I'd like to have this looked into before I dish out the money to buy the program only to find out I've wasted my money because the plugin won't work.

    Yeah this is the free one too, it's not loading to try before buying.

    It's not working for me either. On the plugin page it says it failed to load because it wasn't a Daz file or that it was for the wrong version.

    Same here too. I don’t even find it among installed plugins. Windows 7 and 64-bits Daz. Here is what log-file says:

    C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins\dzfacetransfer.dll failed to load. Cannot load library C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins\dzfacetransfer.dll: the module not found

    Try uninstalling DS, make sure it has really gone, and then reisntall - your settings will be preserved.

    Completely removed Daz 4.12 reinstalled and nothing.  I have 4.12.0.86  64bit Windows 10 version.  and the Error again,  that dzfacetransfer.dll failed to load.

    Updated and Merged, even tried the ludicrus Load a G8 and select the face, and checked Window pane menu and it is still missing.

    I installed Daz Studio on to my MSI laptop (Which would be my perfered machine but Daz won't work right on there) and the Face Transfer is working right there.  Now there is a vast difference in machines here, my Desktop is an AMD Phenom II x6 with a non NVidia GPU, but my Laptop is i7 Nvidia 980 GPU,  is my Desktop to old?  

    And as for my Laptop not working with Daz, this is the problem, It won't conect to Smart Content and stalls Daz.  Product menus take about 5 to 10 minutes to open.  But if I wait and load something in the view pane posing and all is normal, and the IRay render is almost instant.

If this is the case, until we update the package to either include the VS 2015 redistributable or we can get a 3rd party library compiled with an earlier version of the compiler, users that experience this issue can download/install "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" from Microsoft @ https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 and this should resolve the issue.

    that worked,  they should have thought about unique libraries, to at least they could have warned about it.

    Sadly it wasn't caught in any of the testing stages - internal, private, or public. Once it was reported Rob was able to figure it out and post a workaround for now.

    As far as security goes I'm currently only using windows defender as I'm looking for a Virus program that doesn't delete programs that are not virus or malware.

    As far as security goes I'm currently only using windows defender as I'm looking for a Virus program that doesn't delete programs that are not virus or malware.

    Unfortunately you are using an unsupported version of Windows, version 7 without SP1. I don't believe there is anything you can do, other than updating Windows.

    You don't need Windows 10, just Windows 7 SP1 or later - which will also give you  alot of bug fixes and security updates (and is free, and available from MS, for now).

    Well, here's an update.

    Got service pack 1 installed and the plugin sorta works. I get this error while it's processing the picture:

    Face Transfer failed to load the base material preset.
    Image will still trasfer, but with reduced quality.

    As for the finished results. It's a mix bag. I think I'll save what I think about it for another Discussion thread.

    make sure you have the updated Geensis 8 Starter Essentials, which adds some files needed for Face Transfer.

    Copy and Paste. Why? The DAZ Installer hasn't worked for me lately. All I get is a download error. But that's a subject for another thread.

    Try downloading the zip manually and placing it in the DIM Downloads folder, or use the Install pane inside DS - a copy and paste won't list the new files in the database, without reimporting metadata, so Face Transfer probably won't know they are there.
