3Delight for V4 and clothing

will the clothing and products for V/M4 work with 3Delight rendering without any changes? I've been using iray exclusively since i started using DS a year or two ago and have not tried 3Delight at all. there are some cool products on sale for V4 right now.

IMO, no:) Poser handles specular, ambient and bump/displacement slightly differently than 3DL. As a rule of thumb, check the glossiness parameter and lower it to get a more natural highlight, 100% glossy means an infinitely small highlight. Kill ambient strength if you don't want the stuff to look like they're glowing. Set bump min and max values to -0.1 and 0.1 as a starting point. Poser displacement uses black as the zero value, so the min- and max values may need some tweaking.

  • ...and a tip if you have not used 3DL before, in rendersettings tab set gamma correction to on and gamma to 2.20, or you will not have accurate shading!

Those with DS settings should. Those with Poser settings only will usually require adjustments.

All those V4 items should work just fine in Iray with some tweaking of the shaders. I am not saying you should not try out 3DL, but this should not be the reason to swap.
