Marcius

Regarding Marcius products:

Clint and Kath HD for Genesis 8

Louis and Nina for Genesis 8

Well the guys are pretty easy to know who they are as Elvis Presley and Louis Armstrong were basically non-stop talked about in the 70s on television if not actually non-stop played on the radio. My question is Nina, Diana Ross or Gladys Knight? I'm thrown by the Nina angles and hairstyles used for the ad copy though who she is supposed to be a caricature of.

And sorry but I have no ideal who Kath is? Anyone care to enlighten me?

I'd like to buy both sets.

Nina makes me think of Nina Simone, but I might be wrong.

edit: apparently I’m not the only one ;)

True... but I'm sure I haven't heard of artists that others might say the same about *g*

Oh, thanks. I had already looked up who she was and read a bit of wikipedia about her but had still never heard of her or any of her music she played. Despite all the talk of Elvis & Louis when I was a boy it was rare to actually hear them on the radio either so I guess I shouldn't be surprised after all the TV shows & movies talked about perfectly aged wine while the rest of us are actually drinking mass produced beer.

Forgive me Marcius but I will still use your Nina character to be Gladys Knight. It's harder in general to recognize female caricatures than male caricatures because they retain more youthful characteristics than males do and to caricature requires exaggerating that which means that they need to look even younger and more alike than naturally is the case. Take a male and caricaturize him though and them means exaggerate with no worries about the need to flatter so I find them easier to recognize.

I looked again at Kath & still don't have a clue, maybe Olivia Newton John but Kath isn't presented as a blonde in any of the ad copy.

Oh, thanks! That makes sense given the name of the product if not the way Clint looks as that is an Elvis caricature. I've heard of Clint Black, I think he's from the 80s or 90s when he was a big country singer. Kathy Mattea I'd never heard of though. No surprise there as they really have to oversaturate the airwaves to get me to notice any new singer or band of any genre anymore. Like I've heard of Beyonce, J-Lo, Brittany, Timberlake, Bieber even though I don't watch new TV or not heard a note of their music.

I think maybe Elvis's estate is a little zealous on copyrights and likenesses although I remember buying a Tennessee Driver's License in the last 25 years that was in Elvis's name & had his picture too. It looked like a real driver's license. It was a kind of funny joke with Elvis impersonators maybe only having competition with Queen Elizabeth impersonators in shear number of impersonators..

Kathy Mattea  and Clint Black,  both 80s Country music.   Dressing the male in a rhinestone outfit was deceiving as Clint was never a rhinestone cowboy type.

Skywalker77    I'm pretty sure it's Black Widow WS For Genesis 3 Female over at guhzcoituz site.

Clint in his natural environment, if he is indeed a country singer :)
