LMAO, the penguin/centaur is freakin awesome!

  • Sub divide the sphere,  for a smoother surface.  That way you can have the character reflected in the image.

That pengtaur is sublime... I think... I’m not sure how to use that word, but rich people seem to call things “sublime” when they are intellectually stimulating or fascinating, or the rich person is drunk and you are stealing their wallet... but it’s very sublime... actually, superlime... or perhaps even superlemon-lime... everyone loves citrus.

What I find most striking is how this render calls to mind the famous painting “The Education Of Achilles” by Eugène Delacroix... which in its own right is fairly superlemon-lime in its depiction of Ancient Greek nudity. The Education Of Achilles is believed to be one of the earliest public service messages, warning ancient greeks about the dangers of playing ball near the edge of high structures.

I believe this is an image of the original before it was stolen from the Louvre in 2013 by a bunch of raccoons in a brazen daylight robbery that nobody really cared about.

...I think I saw it at a second hand thrift store the other week.  It had a yellow price tag which that day meant it was 75% off the usual price.

Please report this to the FIB right away, there is a $1.50 reward being offered for its return... but I’m not sure if the yellow tag reduces the reward price, so it might not be worth it.

...1.50$, cool that will cover the old codger's fare on the bus and leave me a quarter to play of a pinball game down at retro arcade.

Hmmm ... 75% off. If I remember that store, they have an extra sale on tuesdays ... you can get an extra 15% off. Ummm ... let's seee..  that would be 90% off ... wait, no ummm ... 15% of of 75% off is ??? ... how do those numbers stack?  What does the FIB have to do with this. Do I only get 21% of $1.50 ... I think I could get more for this on the black mark ... ummm I mean on the grey marke ....  umm I mean just selling it on the street.

Actually, I managed a pretty good copy of the pengtaur in the image ... If I could make the background, I could sell lots of these things! .. Oh wait - I think someone is knocking at the door ... ... ..

  • Not at all, we are friends here. I am the Pi Man [ much better than the Fibonacci Sequence Man :-) ]

Both you and E-Man are nice enough guys, but you both can be completely irrational at times... but anyone is better than I Man, don't even get me started on the stuff he makes up sometimes.

  • O-man worries me, there is no good O-man

  • There can be advantages to being irrational ... and to being the Pi Man ...

Try looking at it in a mirror rather than upside down ... or copy it into a photo program and flip it horizontally.

    is like leet 1337

my mum actually set maths homework for her class using a calculator where they had to turn it upside down to get the word for the answer to a question!

she did those hidden word puzzles and stuff too as homework should be fun and she wanted them out playing games after school not sitting and doing homework so they got a half hour in class to do it too

Any good software around for flipping forumposts horizontally?

I was wondering how the project is going, what new avenues you are exploring for the sphere, what new techniques you might be trying out to expand the horizons and synergies of this dynamic concept in renderology and spherical depiction... or are you satisfied with the limits of the sphere as it is, content to allow it to rest for now until new technologies evolve to embrace it’s possibilities?

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 42,005

...but on a metaphysical note, is the sphere really a sphere, or just a two dimensional representation thereof?
