Pose Preset Problem

edited December 1969 in Daz Studio Discussion

Hi Everyone!

I have a problem in Daz Studio 4. I have a scene where i made several poses for V5 and i saved them in my default content directory under Preset/Poses. The problem is that under the "Pose & Animate" menu in the "Presets" tab these poses do not appear. I tried to hit the "All" button, tried to refresh and even to reload the app and scene, but the "Presets" tab is still empty. I watched the tutorial video from DAZ where a guy posed a Dragon and his poses all appeared under "Presets" tab.
What am I doing wrong?

Do they appear in Content Library > DAZ Studio Formats > My Library > Presets > Poses?

so it may appear "unassinge category" of smart contents
if you can not see unassigned category on smart contents,
you can categorize them by content directory tab>right click > Scan know directories of files.

once you do it, many files are categorized by unassigned

you can check it ,on content manager.
    categories> default>unassigned

then go to smart contents pane,
    check Pose>unassigned.

you can see pose preset which you made there.

if you set the pose file(dsb) category and compatibilty,
    (it means set metadata),
    it come up on pose>preset

I feel it's a nuisance set metadata everypreset, so I just leave it as unassigned category.

I hope it may help something

mmm, so other contents for genesis, can you see by smart contetns?

eg "default contents for genesis wordlobe poses"

can you see this message after you "Scan known directories for files"? on contents library option.

I can't see any kind of content by smart contents. It is totally empty. I can see that message.

    >>I can’t see any kind of content by smart contents. It is totally empty.

that means you can not see any contents by smart contents?

it seems as if you have no metadata of products,,
but you can see contents by contents manager?

do you set daz contents folda, correctlly?
or you may mistake install contents.
or your cms (contents manager services) not run correctly,,

can you show the img your Actors, Wardlobe & props pane,
    Files or products.

if you can see nothing by smartcontents
reset database and reinstall products metadata.

    contents library> contents database maintenance>reset database> Re-improt metadata.

if you can not see any contents in smart contents folda,
you might check your cms run or not.

    close your daz studio.

on your pc, (if you use windows PC)

windows menu> all programes>Daz 3d>daz contents manager service
    stop, then start again.

    then reopen your ds4 pro.

To use the Content Manager or the Smart content you need to have the CMS running, you also need to give both DS4 and the CMS network access so they can 'talk' to each other.

Take a look at the Content Library tab -- if there's no triangle next to Categories, then the Content Management Service isn't running. Shut down DS4, then go to Start > All Programs > DAZ 3D > DAZ Content Management Service and click on "Start DAZ Content Management Service". Then restart DS4.

Thanks to you guys I found the problem. CMS was not installed. I reinstalled DAZ Studio with CMS and now works like charm.

One more question. The poses that i save for my character. What does that mean that they are Unassigned and how to make them assigned? What's the difference betwwen Unassigned and Assigned content?

really you did not install cms ^^;?

if you installed 2 set of cms, it is better you would remove old one,,
(when use ds installer, cms may be installed automatically,,so I am afraid that,,)

    I hope it goes well.

then "Unassigend" means you did not set metadata the assets.

if you want to make metadata for your files, check in this forum sicky topic.

Secrets of the DAZ Studio 4 Pro UNIVERSE!

    then check about metadata sections.

I just tell you to "categoryze" your new pose preset( maybe.dsb?).

now I think you can find your pose preset,

    pose&Animate; smartcontents> unassigned section.

then you right click the pose preset, choose "show in content library."

or you just check, on content library

    categories>defautl>unassigend>preset>pose
    .
section. now you may find your pose preset icon.

then right click the icon again , select categorize.

    you may categorize it,

default > preset>pose> (if you want to make another sub category, just make it by right click)

do not forget check your category for your preset. it means you set the category.

after you set "category" on your pose assets , it has gone away from unassigend section.

now you can find it as same as you categorize, on smart contents .

    I hope so.

Unassigned just means that it is new content, so you can categorize it any way you'd like, either in the DAZ Default categories or in your own categories. To categorize just the item, right-click on it and choose Categorize. To categorize a whole folder, right-click on the folder and choose "Move Folder"
