wish Ron would consider making a tutorial vid re how to best use his products. It would be ever so helpful.

L'Adair. EUREKA!! Thankyou. Problem solved. I've had PS for a very long time but only used a fraction of its capability. I watched a video tutorial about styles when I first installed Rons brushes and it only covered the styles from the layer menu. I never thought of looking under the window menu. I really was about to give up until you suggested otherwise. Thanks for your tenacity and encouragement.

L'Adair. and MelanieL Thanks for the example of using Rons brushes and Styles. It emphasised the importance of understanding how to use Ron's brushes and styles. There must be plenty of tutorials on line. Can you recommend any?

You're welcome. I'm really happy you now have access to all the features in Ron's product. As you saw from my previous post, you want to use separate layers for the brush strokes and then apply the Style presets to those layers. You can also experiment with layer styles on your own, either "from scratch" or after applying a preset. I think you're going to have a lot of fun with these brushes and styles. Just don't forget to "come up for air"… (Graphics can be really addictive!)

There may be some videos available, but I'm the kind of person who learns from doing; I don't spend a lot of time watching videos so I don't have any to recommend. Sorry. (I prefer to just jump in, push buttons, twist knobs, pull cords… and then see what happens.)

My main passion is painting pictures. I use Daz and Photoshop to create and compose a painting. I spend too much time trying to understand the software before creating and painting a picture. I play around with painting much like the way you play around with using software. Rons brushes inspired me with many ideas that will make my art more interesting. I wasn't joking about getting PS Elements if my CS3 didn't work. So thanks again for saving me the expense and time on another distraction.
