I don't mind the sales as they are, but...
if you look at the recent Mathias HD 80% off, to get the discount I have to buy two of 8 items. Five are female items and the other three are non-male items. Why can't male items be offered, for this sort of thing?
Surely people have the right to express their feelings? "A lot of sales" may as well be called "some sales". Had a look at today's sales, and as expected, it says details inside, so you have to click it if you wnt to know what 's going on, and sure enough, it's full of "buy this to get that". Waist of time and very off-putting indeed.
Not to mention the page after page after page of sale error reports...
I understand the OP very well.
Since there have been several comments about what the actual number of items in the "Hundreds of Top Sellers" is:
You don't need to log out or unclick Hide Items I Own, to see the total number. On every sales page and the main page, just under the filter dropdowns, on the left is a note, "XXX of YYYY items, where YYYY is the total in the store, sales, or your parameters. I
It's not a Daz Deals thing, since I see it on my tablet which doesn't have the extension.
I'm not impressed with the sales of late either. I haven't bought much this Summer.
I've been shopping here for five years, and "some sort of promotion every day" has been standard Daz operating procedure for the whole of that time. For that matter, so has "buy some new content to get discounts on old content." You don't have to buy something new - there are currently 29 PAs whose back catalogs are on sale at 40% off, and 29 items at 70% off in fast grab. It's not that uncommon for them to discount everything by 50% with no new purchase required.
* Sigh!* I'm guilty of being a complainer of lack of sales offers too . mostly because I am a 3d junkie and i need my weekly fix.. But waiting for products that would entice me to part with my money. does not really need to be a sale if the product is enticing enough. or something i will use a lot on my project. Sales gimmicks are just that, So why complain about any company trying to make what they believe is reasonable offers to customers to entice them into spending. , even though I may not like the offers some people must or daz would not keep having them.
Besides the fact no one forces me to buy the things they offer if I don't like it.. Yes its true I have gone a couple of month at a time without buying anything because i had no use or interest for any of the items offered or i felt the offers were not enticing enough. But then on the other hand I have had times by the end of the week, month or sales offer, that my credit cards looks like a depleted Whoopi cushion because i spent so much that it taken me 3 months ot pay it of. I think that is what make me spoiled is because of all those great PA sales and March madness end of season sales etc.during the year. plus every week they have some sort 70% off flash sales. It maybe not what I want at the time, but some people must like them.
As much as I would like to demand daz to have better offers, the reality of it is Daz can't have those great sales all the time or we would not have a 3d store long because they could not keep the lights on.
I do wish they Daz or the PA's offer more male content though, not just in the sales offers, but on new releases as well. If this was a real life work place, there would be a serious reverse sex decimation going on in the work place...just my 2 cents
I echo your feelings about the bonus items but there are four of those new items that look really interesting and they are 44% off when you buy at least two. That works.
The way I look at it, most of those "buy a new release and get X" promotions aren't sales, they are incentives to buy newly released products just like you may see an advert that says buy a new car and get a trailer for $1. Those dealerships aren't actually trying to sell trailers. As far as I gather, the launch is really important for vendors because that's when they will have the most visibility. If you didn't have to buy a new release to get the discount, then the vendors would be competing with a sale, instead of benefiting from it.
Daz still throws in some amazing sales in between, I have purchased so much lately for 1.99 and 2.99, but it really helps to see the daily deal for they are, or you can get frustrated.
where/how do you find these 29 vendors at 40%?
i know I'm now pretty much at 60% or greater puchases. There are some items at 60% if you buy 2 "new releases", which could be PC+ items reducing the buy in, but when I look at past sales figures, they were greater discounts even a month ago.
Well, if someone says ‘Daz doesn’t have simple sales any more’ that is not an issue of feelings, that’s factually wrong.
The other comments have been more subjective so fair enough.
My approach is that if there’s a buy this, get those, it’s a bonus of I want whatever the trigger is. If not? Wishlist and shrug.
I wish more people bought animals, male content, and quirky weird horror stuff.
Remember, it’s customer driven.
...well, I'd definitely buy Cat 8 once it (ever) hits the store and any add on content for it as well, along with fish that look more "real" and have more morphs. Sadly all the beautiful birds migrated to another site.
We get flash sales, coupon code sales, and other sales that don't require a new release purchase quite frequently. There's another one today:
Also if you have Ati's and Overdrawn's Daz Deals Add-on you can do a site search by percent off, click "Hide PC+", and you'll see there are a lot of items discounted.
Featured artists for each daily sale usually have their store on sale at 40% off, with an optional bigger discount if you buy them with new content or buy multiple items (depending on the sale). And that can be combined with the current flash sale.
I've been shopping here for about 10 years. Yes, of course Daz has always had a number of sales year round. But--believe me, you--it's only this year that "A New Promo Deal (or Several Deals) 365/7" has become A Thing. (Outside of the PA, anniversary/MM sales).
I don't see how that can be - I've been shopping here for 3 years and there is (and has been) a new sale every day with the new releases roll out at Daz midnight. There are very rare exceptions to that when we didn't have a new sale at Daz midnight but that is very rare. But for as long as I've shopped here (for at least 3 years) there's been a new sale every day (again with a very very rare exception once in a blue moon we don't get a new sale at Daz midnight).
...combined the flash sale coupie with a couple PA 40% off sales and finally picked up Good Guys for G8M, and Pattern Hair for G3F/G8F. Sometimes you can still score big.
YES ..this turned into buying several items at 80% off ... HUGE
I DID SCREW UP THOUGH...I FORGOT TO ADD A COUPLE FASTGRAB ITEMS AND COULD HAVE GOOTEN THEM FOR NEAR FREE. they already 70% off and another 50% off ... wow ... i did buy 5 that were 60% off and then added the 50% ..those were real decent... 80% off.
I avoid any complicated sales. It's too hard to keep track of the items I want to buy, and then search for whatever I can get in return. Just give me something simple like a percentage off the price of a new item, whatever.
RIGHT NOW, IF YOU GO TO fastgrab..there are 3 Stonemason products that are at 70% off ...AND, there is a flash sale for 65% off ..they combine..right now in my cart for under $10 for all 3 ..I passed on them before and really have no need fo rthem. but, its hard to pass by at 89% off
I think there have been some decent sales lately. Definitely not the deals I encountered when I first started using DAZ. If an item is discounted enough, I'll buy it. But if the price still isn't within my budget, I can sit around and wait for a better deal if I want a deeper discount. They come around, you just have to watch for them. If they happened every day, my wallet would sob. I do remember there was a time when I filled up my cart for about $20 and there was a ton of stuff. Not just PC+ items. I loved the sales that involved buying multiple of PC+ or items from a particular artist's catalog, and how you could just keep stacking the savings. There were some amazing deals. Those deals still pop up every once in a while. There have been some similar deals, but they involve buying new releases. I don't have a problem with that. If I don't particularly want any new releases, I can skip that deal.
I can say, I'm not a big fan of "flash sales" requiring coupons.
Is there any possible reason for that, other than simply to keep you from using one of your monthly Platinum Club coupons?
It's one order only, the coupon controls that - and lets you make an order without using the code, if you want to do that first for some reason
This gets me too. Sometimes the incentive to buy the new release stuff just doesn't fit with the style/tone of the new release and it's a shame.
Thank you DAZ, I got the two Stonemason sets I thought I would have to pass up, even at Fast Grab prices. Trying to stretch the budget now.

...bad Daz, bad Daz. Another Flash Sale that includes four of my favourite vendors. They must know I have a bit more than usual in the bank this month.
..actually one of the nice things about these Flash sales has been they are also good on FastGrab items as daveso mentioned, while the PC+ ones are not..
Seems DAZ didn't want my money... first the sale wasn't working, and when it was, it took me too long to decide what to buy... so $ 18.- stayed in my pocket...
Well the 3 SM FG items were a nice little snatch
