How rediculous?

Hi all, this is just an observation to comment on nothing more. I have been watching all the warriors being submitted to the Daz store for a long time now. As time goes on, I have watched them get bigger and bigger with more and more bulky clothing. I think this outfit takes the cake though. $25.00 for this outfit. omg!...Now I ask you...how the heck is this guy gonna stand up, fight, much less keep his balance, or see over his shoulder behind himself much less with this gawdy aray of clothing and metal all over him. The weight alone would keep him from standing...lol. I don't think anyone, at any time in history or our future would want to be him or even consider having to dress up in this outfit. How is he gonna pee ot poop for goodness' sake? He can't even scratch an itch! Maybe some of you guys should consider toneing it down a bit to a more realistic approach to this kinda stuff. I would never spend $25.00 on this, but that is just me. Anyone got any suggestions here I am sure all these authors and builders of this stuff would appreciate some opinions on making them better for sales. Whatcha think?
( Thank you Daz for letting me keep my opinion posted)

Fantasy stuff is exactly that.. I personally love it, and seeing it at the top of what's hot when it was released I'm inclined to think others do too.
You need to play more video games to increase your tolerance for fantasy armor.
There... I fixed that for ya.
Well...he can't move but he can stand in the fire for days=)
I had to wishlist it as need to pay for my electricity
He's strong!
:D
....................and his ridiculous spellchecker works
If you stay readyculous you don't have to get readyculous!
Anyway, the above armour may be pure fantasy (read: improbable) but actual medieval knights in their full plate heavy armour also had a lot of trouble getting up, scratching an itch, taking a leak, etc. All they were good for was sitting on a horse and swinging a mace. Presumably.
in ESO it's a prettt typical armor set, down to the skulls
my khajit char is wearing pauldrons of some kind of horned animal.
Must be made from foamed magnesium to make it light and strong enough. Not your average mediaeval blacksmith's work, I grant you. If it's fantasy, why not assume they have superb metallurgy and an idiotic attitude to weapons & warfare? In fantasy, any stupidities can be accepted if it fits the story - there is no requirement for sense, science or logic; Style rules, as it is beginning to in real life.
Doesn't mean I'll have any truck with such absurdities myself.
Regards,
Richard.
Before this gets too acrimonious - it's a fantasy. As others have said, you will see a lot of things like this in games and anime and certain schools of illustration. Of course you can also have fantasie in which the armour is more or less inspired by real historical armour, or takes account of the weight of the materials, and that's also legitimate. By all means lobby for the latter, but please do it without attacking the former (or skimparmour) - different people have different tastes, different things that look cool and different things that break the suspension of disbelief.
That's what they told me at school toto, but in fact armored knights often fought on foot in medieval times. It was a legitimate tactical choice in certain situations (Battle of Crecy, e.g.). And, given how vulnerable horses were to be killed or disabled, a knight who could not move or fight without a horse would be pretty useless.

You're likely right about the itch-scratching and leak-taking, but maybe not particularly foremost in your mind when someone was swinging a pole-axe in your direction.
I suspect the more well to do knights had ceremonial armor as well as battle armor, and the former may have been almost as fancy and impractical as this guy's.
OP, you asked for opinions so, my opinion is that this is a perfect example of beautifully made and textured fantasy armour. As someone else noted, just have a look at the armours for game art-this isn't even extreme. It's actually a quite classic dragon and orc fighting get up.
Anything better than female high heel armors....
Reminds me of the heavy armor sets in skyrim lol.
This armor is awesome.... and I’d personally like to see more like it. I love the skulls
I guess he's so occupied with monster slaying/ world saving, that he hasn't got the time to remove the skulls from his pauldron spikes...
I have to agree with you music2u4u. It is unbelievably ridiculous! Went straight into my cart
Never heard of Vlad the impaler?
The usage of fear inducing imagery was commonplace in strategic warfare. In Rome, it was typically roaring lion heads... but personally I think skulls get the job done better...
esp when they’re real
Huh, the more you know!
I personally like it . Its looks like something out of world of Warcraft surely not as bad as female warrior outfits that have little to no Armour ..LOTS more male content please
And I'm absolutely certain they wouldn't.
I'm surprised that any artist would think that feedback of the "I'm going to insult everything you've done, and then insist you guess exactly what I do want and make that instead" variety was anything other than completely and utterly useless. You haven't expressed one positive opinion or given a single actionable piece of advice.
There are a myriad of different choices for armour on the store. If you don't like this one, buy a different one. The artists aren't at your beck and call, and they will often want to make things for niches that you aren't interested in.
He wears this armor in order to stand in front of and protect a DAZ princess in skimpwear and heels.
I think you summed it up pretty well here.
Also, https://www.daz3d.com/battleworn-armor-for-genesis-8-male came out just a few days before this item, if that's more your speed. It's nice to have more than one option in the store.
Going to second Matt Castle.
I used to do QA work. Most of the office were fresh out of college, we weren’t a high ranking anything.
I commented to a coworker, chatting about training we were all doing about feedback, that there were ways to give feedback more positively, or at least not negatively. While appreciating that this is the hard work someone is pouring themselves into.
Young coworker ‘So they don’t want us to be honest, jeez.’
And I shut up, because I wasn’t his boss.
When you say a product sucks or is garbage, you have pretty much burned the bridge on its creator and probably other vendors. It’s not like we’re in expensive suits and gold limos on piles of CGI cash.
It is possible to give feedback positively, if you actually want a dialog with creators. And one of the key elements of that is recognizing personal taste vs absolute.
Like, I don’t like how often female armors and outfits have heels. Not to my taste, though I recognize I’m somewhat outvoted by the market.
Politely requesting an option to remove heels is positive.
Complaining how stupid vendors are with all their slutware garbage outfits that are completely impractical and people don’t want this nonsense, that gets you written off and ignored.
I mean, personally big chunky armor like this isn’t something I’m into. But it’s technically very well done and clearly there’s an appeal to recreating computer game characters as renders.
So... let’s stay positive, if you want people to listen.
What most surprises me is the long list of occasions I've had to explain the basics of critique to artists.
I would have thought that any reasonably experienced artist had received enough comments in their life to have at least an inkling of what kinds of critique were welcome and useful, and what was an unwelcome and unhelpful tirade.
It’s world of Warcraft fantasy armor. Never cared for that style but it is a look some people like. If it looks ‘rediculous’ to you can not buy it. There are other armor options.
The armour is not my thing, but I thought it looked impressive. But the foot directly over the fire made me wince! I can understand why it's hot. I might wishlist it, but not something I think I'd use, but great for others. He'd have to come into my house sideways I think.
A dude wearing that armor aint using no door. He's comin in kool-aid man style
