Realistic body armor

I'm getting a little tired of seeing futuristic body armor all the time. Has anyone made a model of the Crye JPC, Velocity Scarab, or even a generic plate carrier like the Ferro Concepts Slickster?

Crye Percision JPC

Velocity Systems Scarab

Ferro Concepts Slickster

The only person I know who has made anything close was serzart and his Ranger outfits.

How exactly do you rig stuff.

    Also maybe this one too:

Even though I really don’t like at all the female version; as always, too ridiculous. In that sense, the atlas one did better, although it will be too fantastic for your taste probably:

or maybe this old one for gen 1

Always looking forward to realistic body armors (Medieval, Modern or Futuristic).

  • what do you mean by realistic?

Insignia Expansion for ATLAS Armored Suit looks prtectife and still with good movability for a lil bit sci-fi

for fantasy... maybe you could try to mix armors up together

like some basic underwear https://www.daz3d.com/southern-noble-outfit-for-genesis-8-males  and put some armors on it. since you have the unterwear, your charcer wouldn't be too naked anymore with leather stuff or chainsmail between the armor parts.  but you will need to some editing to make the armor look like it is over those other clothes.

But I bet a knigts armor was over a lot of other layer too. and not on a pure nacked body.

Since you are not limited into adding more than one har or more than one cltohe part ... (as far as i know) it soul make you a potential of some very unique armor combinations.

I posted the armor that I'm specifically looking for in my original post lol

  • The bulletproof vest in the soldier pack deforms way too much when you twist or bend the figure. It's a great set just wish that piece was more rigid.

You're going to see that problem with a lot of 3d body armor whether it be fantasy, military or sci-fi.  Maybe dont autofit it and parent it to the spine bones and just limit the range of motion on the shoulders and neck.  I've worn the old 80's and early 90's style military Flak Jackets (PASGT vest) and the Interceptor type body armor and it does limit your range of motion by quite a bit.  With the PASGT vest and helmet for example the way my body is built and how my armor fitted made the back of my helmet hit the neck part of my vest causing the brim of my helmet to go down over my eyes when i would shoot while on my stomach. With both types of vests i noticed myself and i noticed other people turning our whole bodies or just our head.

You should look up YT videos of people wearing armor that is the same type as the ones you want to put on your characters.  Ask the people on here for tips and tricks too.

A very dear friend of mine is a retired Sargent, I pick his brain all the time when it come to military related stuff (especially the bulletproof vest in that set).  I'm going to try to not auto-conform and adjust the poses so they're a bit more stiff as well (twisting the hips & head/neck instead of the lower & upper chest areas) and see if that helps cut down on the deformation of the model.

And glossedsfm, and to all the others who have served & are serving that may be part of the 3D community - THANK YOU for yor service.

    Sure, https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/military/armor/bulletproof-vest-4

you will need to import it into DS, set up the materials and then rig it
