except most of the products don't even have a forum thread

Nor would most products have any reviews.

    This works both ways.

"If I want it, I should get it, even though it could negatively impact the pa's, esp ones who are new and trying to build a name and may not be well rounded yet, even though it could negatively impact the moderators and cause them extra work. I want it anyway.... even if Daz has to reroute it's web resources away from more needful maintenance, to put in a completely superfluous review system, which would require its own database and tables to be implemented into an existing store with thousands of customers and product and then spend all its time babysitting unruly users who abuse said system. Because you know what?? I want it"

Funny, one thinks there's zero reviews, and other thinks there's millions that crash Daz servers and overloads moderators....

But let's be serious, I do know that most products probably would not have any reviews, and in that sense the whole review system could be a total waste of time. Also of course implementing something new takes time and money, and where Daz should invest that money is out of my hands, but we can always make suggestions. Like it or not, Daz shop is where they make their money, so improving customer experience there is probably always pretty high on their list. Whether this kind of change bring more money is still a question mark, but if those that make decisions read these forums at least know that some of their userbase would like to have review system.

I'm well aware of what the mods have to deal with on the forums on a daily basis. Tack on modding reviews, and yeah, you get a bloat. However, I never inferred "millions" or otherwise. But let's say blue is right and hardly anyone did use it. Then it would all be a waste of time+money anyway.

Either way you toss it... no bueno

I respect your opinion as a PA, but I'm a customer, so our opinions are probably reversed. Sellers usually want customers to make impulse buys, and me as a customer, I'd like to get all the possible information before I make the purchase decision. I believe review system would help me make a better informed purchases, so I still think it would be a nice to have feature.

I do understand that if review system was a smash hit, Daz probably would have to hire new moderators, but that's sometimes the case in business word. You have to spend money to make money. But the truth really is, that as a customer, I don't really have to care about moderator workload. I pay money to Daz, so it's their responsibility to manage their staff. If a supermarket gets a new orange juice machine, I don't worry who is going to fill that with fresh oranges. I expect supermarket to handle their staff, and use that new service. Also I don't care if a new PA is trying to build a name, and gets a negative review from a bad product. It's not like they are offering their products for free. If they do, then I take everyting and handle them with silk gloves, but no sir, I have to pay the same price as from more established PAs, so why should they get some special treatment? I might be a total jerk, but you are not going to get any pity points from me with these sad little stories.

What if some highly motivated user wants to help out a vendor because their products are awesome? Or just want to alert other users that some product may promise more than what is shown with some real use-case? Posting in the forum requires the (reviewer) person to build up an insane level of reputation to have their writings to be looked at.

Here, I tested out dForce Thrash the Room set in-depth. This is not a 'this product blows' one liner review. If one of this is posted on your product thread, sure it works positively? Balance out all the shitty review? You just need a way to boost the review to the top, its the same as google search, people only read the top 3 results and go "meh" on the rest.

Nearly every PA is also a customer. And we were all customers before we were PAs.

'I don't really have to care about moderator workload.'

You don't have to, but you should. Because costs affect how viable a business is, or where a business devotes it's resources.

You should care about what Daz is spending it's money on, and its profit margin. A failed business ends up making 0 products you want.

It's not pity points, it's pointing out flaws in the effect and nature of the proposal.
