There's a Loyalty coupon out for 20% off. Can anyone confirm if it can be used multiple times?

I have spent qute a bit over the past several weeks, but it was all gift card money, so that must not count...

Yeah, it's probably still the giftcard purchase that counts. I finally got one of these coupons, but I did buy a giftcard last week, so it's probably that.

I really wish the actual spending would count, not the giftcard itself.

But the Gift Card is the actual spending (for money). Excluding actual purchases of GCs and then counting other cash purchases and purchases with GCs would, I suspect, be a nightmare.

I usually only buy a giftcard once a month, and then buy stuff with store credit. If there were coupons every week (like there were during the Victoria celebration), and these coupons were based on the previous week's spending, then I only get one coupon, even though I might have spent more money during that month than someone who doesn't use store credit. For example, there were maybe four (?) Victoria coupons, and I did not get a single one of them, even though my spending was well over a thousand dollars during that time.

A simple solution could be to count every sale, except for giftcards--and not separate cash purchases and store credit purchases.

This one must have a low amount to trigger. I only bought 6 items in the $2.99 promotion. I don't think I got any of the message offers last month.

The LOYAL-20 doesn't get applied to the amount that go over your Teen Jane freebie limit. Is this working as intended?

  • LindseyLindsey Posts: 2,008

Proper accounting for a Gift Card initially purchased is to debit Cash and credit a Gift Card liability account. Use of a Gift Card would credit Revenue and debit the Gift Card liability account.

I do recall a thread from long ago on the recognition of a Gift Card sale the same as a cash sale for the calculation loyality rewards; DAZ chimed in and made changes to do so.

I do have a large gift card balance >3k, but I admit I've been extremely frugal spending it lately and am not suprised I haven't received any of the last two rounds of loyality offers.  I've passed on the last two DAZ character bundles which is unusual for me, but then they were ladies and have too many of them.

It was working earlier on the overage. Whether it's supposed to or not, I can't say, but it makes sense that it should discount any positive dollar value since it should apply to whatever amount the cart totals.

Does the loyalty discount only work once? I want to make sure I have an "optimal cart" if it's only going to work one time.

I saw a post on the previous page that someone used it 3 times. I hope it wasn't a one time glitch as I am planning to get a gift card then something else. Will edit after I try

I just used it to get a gift card. Then it worked again on a second cart. So, it looks like it is multiuse like last months Victoria's birthday coupons.

While I really appreciate the coupon, it is a bit disconcerting to realize that I just bought the Jane 8 Pro bundle and addons yesterday for $75 and could have got it for $60 if I had waited just one more day. Oh well. Such is life

I noticed last night that the Loyalty coupon was applying to the price of items rather than the final total, which essentially meant that the $X free items deal in the Teen Jane sale was stretched out a bit, and that getting a Pro Bundle from the deal was now reasonably cheap.

I didn't have time to go through sorting out a full cart last night, and the coupon lasts until Friday, so I figured I'd leave it for today.

That's been changed by this morning so that Jane deal items aren't affected by a discount when the deal is being used (although there has been the presence of mind to have it still apply when the deal isn't in use), which doesn't entirely surprise me, but the problem is that this now means the discount doesn't apply to these items at all. If I now want to get a Pro Bundle as part of the deal, I have to pay the price over the allowance in full, with no discount from the Loyalty coupon.

When the deal includes single items that cost considerably more than the allowance, disabling the loyalty discount on them entirely is not a reasonable compromise!

I'm talking about the free items as part of the deal.

In the screenshots below, with or without the loyalty coupon, the Tika 8 Pro Bundle is $24.47, so it's not working out as 20% off the order. (Said Pro Bundle does however discount if not being used as part of the Jane deal).

Yesterday, it discounted pre-freebie allowance and was therefore only $5.58, but that's been changed (presumably to stop people getting extra freebies). However, the problem is that because its base price exceeds even my (slightly) increased freebie allowance, exempting it entirely when the deal is used means that the left over cost is not reduced by the loyalty coupon.

It might be a viable solution to stopping people getting extra freebies if you're assuming that people will only buy up to the freebie limit, but that's not a very good assumption when some of the items in the deal considerably exceed that limit on their own.

Considering the issues coupons have with earned freebies like these I suspect you'd end up needing a support ticket anyway, so I'd suggest just opening one now and seeing what they say. We will send an enquiry in, but if it was working and now isn't I suspect it may have been having issues anyway and that's why it was changed.

This is why these loyalty coupons are good. I just bought a bunch of stuff that were not even on my wishlist--stuff that I would not have bought otherwise. Can we please have them be based on item purchases (no matter what method is used), as opposed to just the giftcard purchases (for people who use store credit)? Please, please, please? :)))))))))))))))))))

Ugh. I'm really going to have to struggle to find the motivation to argue for a price that's likely going to be $14 worse than if I'd just done it before they changed the coupon.

I may just forget it; the GBP to USD exchange rate is currently in the toilet anyway, so with the changed coupon, there's not enough in the freebies offer to intice me and I think I'm now better off waiting until these show up in a good enough Pro bundle sale. It'll mean forgetting a few of the artist items in the discounts, but I don't really have to have any of it.

    Yes please, please, please!

I qualified for this loyalty coupon, possibly because I just bought a substantial GC last week - but I missed out on the Victoria Birthday ones despite buying a GC that qualifying week, so it doesn't even seem completely consistent.

    Ok, thank you.

And yeah, that sucks about the pro bundle. I've had the opposite happen too before, where I think "Ok, if I wait another day or two maybe a gift card sale will come up that I can purchase first before buying the pro bundle or some other sale that will make the pro bundle sale more tempting" and then BAM, the bundle sale was gone. lol Timing can be tricky with these sales sometimes.

So, the "Growing Up Faces" page says 20% off Gift Cards if you buy two or more "Growing up faces" New Releases, then the next section says get 15% off Gift Cards if you buy two or more "Growing up faces" New Releases. Which is it supposed to be?

If you have the 20% off loyality coupon, this increases the 15% GC discount to 32%, which is a pretty good discount for GC cards.

Okay it’s maths time, generally speaking the buy X number of new items to get extra discount on other items or gift cards can be a bit of a false economy, especially if you don’t have any particular interest in the new items but today looks a like it maybe worthwhile if you have the loyalty discount (and the money to spend). So here goes, lets see if my maths skills stand up.

Put two new items in your cart, 30% introductory discount, plus an extra 20% multiple purchase discount plus the extra 20% loyalty discount means these items are:-

    100%-30%= 70%-20%(14% of full price)= 56%-20%(11.2% off full price)=

44.8% (55.2% discount) which is not bad for a new item.

Now add a gift card, stack the 15% multiple item discount plus the 20% loyalty discount:-

    100%-15%=85%-20%(17% of full price)=

68%(32% discount) off a gift card!

Check out, redeem the 32% discounted gift card.

Put two more items in your cart and get the discount above, plus a 32% real world discount for the store credit you’re about to use means that the new items are:-

    100%-55.2%= 44.8%-32%(14.336% off full price)=

30.464% (69.536% discount in real world terms)

Add a Stater pack, get the 60% multiple item discount, add the 20% loyalty discount, the 32% real world gift card discount and the optional 30% Platinum Club+ discount:-

    100%-60%= 40%-20%= 32%-32%=

    21.76% (79.24% real world discount)

Platinum Club Plus extra 30% discount:-

    21.76%-30%=

    15.232% (84.768% Real world Discount)

$89.95 to $13.70 real world price, $20.15 in the cart.

Please check my maths, I’m getting on in years, it’s 10 o’clock here in the UK and I’m on holiday in sunny Norfolk (UK) so I had a couple of beers last night, and I’m about to get a sloppy cuddle from the dog which can be quite distracting.

Of course, to add insult to injury I don’t get paid until Monday and I’m really spent up for the month so looks like I might miss out.
