dForce clothes without using dForce?
in The Commons
Hello -
I tried to find some info on this, but came up with nothing. Does anyone know whether short dresses and similar garments designed with dForce can be used as conforming garments? I'd hate to make an expensive mistake.
Thank you!

The ones sold here are all also conforming if I remember right. There are some sold at rendo that are Dforce only.
That would be excellent if correct! Thank you for your reply!
I do not think you can generalize. Some clothing migth be conforming as well as dforce capable, while other migth require dforce to look ok.
My impression is that Daz prefer they can be used both ways, but it is not a rule.
If you're very keen on not getting a dforce only item, I think you must read the description and look at the images, as I think it will usually be clear.
Especially for short dresses I would assume they are conforming.
If worse come to worse, you can return an item.
Personally I am glad dforce has been introduced. I tend to try to use it, if the clothing is loose, and therefore be affected by gravity, even the clothing as default is not set to use dforce. That can although create some issues.
Agreed, but it would be lovely if vendors would specify dForce only or not. I am limited by my computer power, so I have to target my clotiing purposes carefully, and there seems to be a tendency for vendors to assume a lot about computer power, so it would be a good practice for them to let potential buyers know whether an item has a requirement for dForce, or can be alternatively used without it.
Every dforce item I have seen at DAZ is conforming also. I have yet to see a dforce item that wasn't, so if you don't want to use dforce, the item will still fit, alhtough it might not look the best since dforce makes it move more realistically. If you do happen to come across an odd item that isn't conforming, then you can always get a refund
I've purchased a lot of dforce content but have not used dforce - most things conform just fine.
They are a few things in the store that are labeled as dforce only one being a long hair item. I’ve also asked this same question especially if there is not much of a description in the product info. One good way to find out if an item is dforce only is to ask on the forums by posting the item you’re interested in and see if someone has the same item.
Many thanks to everyone who replied and offered kind assistance! Much appreciated!
