deformities when posing

up until a couple of days ago, no extra addons, no freebie installs, etc. I've noticed considerable deformities around the arms and legs whenever posing even a basic Genesis 8 model.  is there way to fix this?  wasn't an issue until a few days ago and not sure what is causing this.  please help.
