How to get rid of "New" tag in Smart Content pane.

Hey all,

Not really a bug, just a general question.  In the Smart Content pane, all of my products are labelled as "New".  I know there is a way to remove this tag from the product, I just can't remember.

Thanks for the help!

Hit F2 to get the Preferences pane, and select the Content tab. The 3rd option is 'Assign New Products To New Group'. Uncheck it.

You may have to refresh the content pane or close/re-open DS for it to take effect.

Thanks for the suggestion, @maclean, but it didn't seem to work.  I reloaded the pane and even restarted DAZ Studion.

  • Changing that setting will affect new installs, not existing content. If you select all products in the Products tab of Smart Content you can right click on them and use the Group Products and Assets as>None to untag everything at once.

I don't know whether this is what you need,  but if you go into Content DB Maintenance (an option from the Smart Content or Content Library pane) there's a box to click called "Clear All Groups" - I think this resets the "New" indicators. Only problem is, I don't know whether there are any other "Groups" which matter which will also be reset. If you ever set up your own groups then they willl presumably disappear too. Then maclean's suggestion should prevent any new products being added back into the "New" group.

You can also remove groups on a product-by product basis - there's a tutorial here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/188781/quick-guide-group-products-assets-as-new-none-favorites

Ah, I didn't know it was only for new stuff. I install content manually, so I haven't had New appear for a long time.

  • Thanks @Richard Haseltine, @MelanieL, and @maclean.  Helped me out!

Having "new" next to all the products was a small annoyance, but thanks for helping me get rid of it!

    Happy Rendering!
