Exporting animation without model doesn't work

Hello!

I would like to use a DAZ animation in another program (Unity).

Because I already have the model in Unity as a separate file, I would like to export the bones only (or perhaps that is called "Rig"?)

I don't need the model, and I don't want to have the overhead in my export file.

What I would like is to only export the animation.

Therefore I select Export -> FBX.

In the options dialog, I select only "Animations" and leave the other items on the left side un-checked, so I do not export this model.

It does export something, but the file is only 8 kb in size, so it basically doesn't contain anything.

How could I make DAZ export only the animation with the rig?

Thank you!

    Would BVH work?

Yes with a third party plugin from the unity store
     ( around $60 USD IIRC)
Unity has some great third pary tools for creating &editing
Character motion, however they must be purchased from the unity store

  • I would rather like to solve this using fbx.

I'm just surprised that DAZ offers exporting only the animation, but it doesn't export it if no model is selected.
