    @Henryhor, Horo, Yellow Pen, Mermaid, adbc: Now you are making my life difficult! Indeed, mystery was what drove me to make the first one. 

    OK, you win, @Chohole, @Apoc, please consider the first one ("The darkness in the night") to be the entry. And skip the "Dark night in a strange univers" as entry. Do not hesitate to ask me again, because I might change my mind a couple of times. Not that it makes any difference for the outcome of the contest....

    @Dan Whiteside: Moon dance is a great picture. Romantic and yet fully captured movement. Impressive work.

    @ Hansmar: Two good abstract works. The first, however, seems really mysterious and is my favorite of the two.

    Hansmar - thanks for your objective eye - I tend to lose that after a couple of weeks working with a scene. I think the reason it looks squished is that I dialed the FOV to far “in”. So backed that off and changed the aspect ratio a little wider. Also brightened up the moon a little.This is the re-rendered version and my official entry.

    @ Electro-Elvis: not my favorite song, but very well done. The french title should be "La nuit".

    Dan Whiteside, you just make a mistake when you enter the URL, so the picture is compressed horizontally. When resizing to 800, you only need to enter the width value. The height changes proportionally automatically. Enter the height value is not necessary! You can edit the entry again.

    And yes, a very beautiful dance!

    This is because the forum software is trying to cope with the myriad different devices that people use to read the forum with.  
    Nowadays they don't just use computers, they also can be using laptops, notebooks, notepads, iPads, smart phones,  not so smart phones, ebook readers, Kindles  etc etc. 

    We do ask to keep the displayed width at 800 (should actually be 768 but we rounded it up to 800).  If you enter it at the screen Drachenlords shows it is possible then to see the full size image by clicking on it.

    Apoc: please remove my entry "Dark night in a strange universe" and replace it by "The darkness in the night" (that I posted just before the other one).
