    Early 90s?

    Late 90s?

Hmmm, did I grow up in a very old-fashioned country? frown (Probable answer: Yes.) Does anyone else remember toothpaste coming in spray bottles, similar to the ones shaving foam comes in?

do you mean  things like this You can still buy them

And I do actually still have a telephone that plugs into the wall and you pick the receiver up which is attached to the base unit with a curly cord.   Mind you it is mainly for show  but it does work and is handy if you need to phone someone during a power cut.

My normal phone also plugs into the wall, but has to plug twice, once to electric socket and once to phone socket.

Why does it need electric?  Phone lines here carry a light flow of electricity, enough to power the light-up dials or buttons.  I have a wall phone that required a battery to save the phonebook and Caller ID list.  But it works without it as a phone.

    Dana

because it is a cordless phone and needs power to keep the battery charged ,  hence when the power goes out the phone no longer works.

I thought you said it plugs into the phone system and it has a coiled cord to the receiver.  Confused.

    Dana

2 different phones.    The pretty one only gets used when the power goes out and the other one won't work.

Why are you forced to fast?

No food is allowed in the rooms and we are supposed to stay in our rooms after nine pm until morning.

Do they think that you are pre teen or something?  9pm curfew is totally ridiculous for adults.

Do snacks, like bags of crisps (fries) and such count as food.  And what about liquid.  no one can be expected to go without a drink for 10 hours or more.

maybe you could get a dr's note that you have to be allowed a small meal late meal, to stabilize your sugar.  low sugar is as bad as high sugar. or worse actuallly, could slip into a coma.

That's too bad.  I have my 3D libraries on a different drive than the OS.  And the applications (DS, Poser Pro 2010, Hexagon, Silo, etc.) are on yet another drive.  I'll be backing things up more, now, too...since I got the WD My Cloud Home 4TB drive.

I should buy another exteranal hard drive to store backups.  My 1 terbyte USB hard drive is almost full.

That sounds very restrictive. Are you in a dorm or something? Sorry, I'm not familiar with your situation, but I enjoy the photos you post of your real life adventures, like the fangs.

They are becoming alarmingly dangerous to their "charges" wellbeing it seems to me.   Have you consulted your Social worker about this?

...yeah saw the of those 4GB "Home Cloud Drives" over at a local Office Mart that is closing and having a big sale.  Still too expensive even with the discount and I don't get my next SS deposit until tomorrow.

Yeah my Libraries and runtimes were on a different drive than the C:Boot as well.

Then, you lost more than one drive?  Sounds like an environmental issue, then.  Or electrical.

...no just the D: "Library" drive with the runtimes scene files, and Daz library on it.  The smaller C:/Boot drive with all the programmes on it is totally fine.

I found the most boring show on Netflix.  There is nothing bad about it.  No nudity but that is because there are no characters.  Unless you count a pile of logs on fire some characters.  There are no foul language because a pile of logs on fire do not use any language.  Basically it is a pile of logs on fire for an hour.  Very boring, too boring as it has no music.

Hmmm now to find something better to watch other than a pile of logs in constant burning state but not really burning, but it looks like it is burning.

You might be missing the key accessories to view it properly.  You need a log cabin, 3 feet of snow out the window, a bottle of champagne and a bear rug on which you curl up naked with a favorite person. devil  Of course a real fire in a fireplace would be better but in a pinch...

Note: That video is very similar to the one with birds and squirrels but that one's intended to excite cats. indecision

Sounds like you've found the "Yule Log".  It's a Christmastime video they made many years ago.  For those who don't have a fireplace, but want to enjoy Christmas music while sipping spiced apple cider and relaxing with loved ones late at night...or whatever.  What channel was it on?

I forgot how to setup a scene and lights to render in Iray.  If I can't remember soon then I will look for some tutorials.

I think it's nice for people who'd like to stare at a fireplace but don't have one.  And if you smoke a little of that funny stuff, you might actually believe it's in your home!  cheeky   Of course, if you start feeling the warmth from it...either you had too much, or your computer/TV is on fire.  surprise

Back in the late 50s my Father was sent to a convalescent home for a month or so after an extremely serious illness. This was in January. The house was heated by radiators, but in the sitting room  (lounge) there was a fire place which had an electric fire display of moving flames, although the actual fire element itself was not working.   Everyone of the convalescents were sitting around the fire, as they swore it was the warmest place in the room.

Well you have to remember that in the 1950s in the UK we were not used to central heating in houses, although there was some in schools and work places.  Many homes were still heated with coal fires. Even electric fires were fairly basic, so an electric fire that looked like an actual fire was quite a novelty. A 3d model of a bed of coals, with semi transparent red and yellow areas and underneath a red light bulb .
this is quite a posh one
