  • @alliekatblue, gorgeous renders.  Is the third one using a background in ps or is it a Daz render too?  Looks beutiful.

  • No it's a background that I put in the environment tab right in Daz

  • Thanks, I should try that as I often just add a background in ps.

That's a good tip and your renders are just awesome.

  • Hi. Could anyone suggest eyes in the DAZ3D store that work well on cartoonized models? I particularly find the standard eyes that are available in The Girl 8 a bit "scary".

As I produce a lot of cartoon work I bought Cartoonized right away, I have to say it is a great product and a recommended buy

but I honestly think the morphs should have been for BOTH male and feemale, more and more morph products are doing this now and I think it is wrong when the morph would take little of no work at all to fit it to the G8 male

It was the same { although not by this artist } with the Edie 8 and Ollie 8 characters figures that had to be bought for male and female seperatly but were in fact exactly the same morph, the male looked exactly like the female before adding hair.

Then we had to buy the HD versions seperatly?, anyone who has used basic ZBrush knows there is little or no work to add details ourselves

I notice some expression packs now have to be bought male and female seperatly?, it put me off buying the Edie and Ollie characters altogether.

Cartoonized is a very good product and welcome addition to anyones runtime that want to create cartoon figures

Funny but I found the eyes were also not quite right when applying the cartoonized morphs to the figures?

Does anyone else find this or have an explination why this is so?

Little work to do it on male? That's absolutely incorrect.

You can save a _little_ time by transferring morphs (it's not a simple copy), but you then have to touch it up and adjust. And that's even assuming that doing the same exact morph is a good idea for male.

And then there are JCMs; you have to do those over entirely for a new figure.

As for HD details, I have zbrush and, no. It's not trivial, at least not if you want it to look good.

  • What fantasic images everyone is posting, and what a great product,  @PedroFurtadoArts! I particularly enjoyed these 3 by @Divamakeup, @Wonderland, and @deathbycanon:

Like others, I dig the realistic skins on the toons, and I've always thought that all types of caricatures can help to bridge the uncanny valley.

    Please keep 'em coming!

Anybody have this product AND "Cleo, the Cheetah Girl" from Angry Viking Press?

    https://www.daz3d.com/cleo-the-cheetah-girl-for-genesis-8-female

I wonder how Cleo might look "tooned" (or "tooned" further given she is a cat-girl)?  Will it even work considering Cleo's feline features?

    Sincerely,

    Bill

Maebry + Cartoonized 49%, Oso Toon for the look. (I considered running it through FilterForge or FotoSketcher, but I like the clean look)

Great renders everyone! @PedroFurtadoArts any way you could do Cartoonized for G3 F&M? I would buy that in a split second! (Although not sure if Daz still accepts G3 only products—but I would buy it wherever you sold it!)

And if not, is there some way to transfer that morph onto G3 and make a slider for G3? There is still so much DS techie stuff I don’t know how to do...

Well, son of a gun!  It actually works!  Certainly gives her a more "kittenish" look, less "threatening"!

I understand and fully respect where you are coming from, but I need you to understand the The Cartoonized for Male is completely different from the female  is not just making the eyes bigger , I'm having the same effort doing the male version as I had with the Female one , I din't just  the shapes I had to Sculpt Everything differently, because in the Cartoon style Males are different from Females and with this I mean , the ladies will have a smaller lower face than the males or for example the shapes themselves are much smoother on the cartoon lady's than the males which are more accentuated, here is a comparison.

I think you are going crazy (I hope) For my next product

  • Pedro, I'm thrillled you're paying attention to the differences in how male vs female cartoons are portrayed because I have never been happy with what seems like direct ports from a female to a male model. Like, in anime, adult male eyes aren't nearly as tall as female eyes, but this rarely shows up in modeling. Speaking of which, if you could include a morph that would allow an adjustment like that -- wider but not rounder eyes for the male -- that would be lovely.

I actually really like the larger eyes and hope you include a morph for that too!

Here is my crazy attempt to make a Cartoonized male...  I don't have Sloshwork's UV Swap (yet, but as soon as it goes on sale, in the cart it will go!) I used the Brute skin on G8F Cartoonized, then found the hidden Male Clone morph and then used some fitness morphs...  I know the real version will be much better, but if you can't wait and have the UV Swap, you can try playing around with it...
