Not the only one of it's kind. Apollo Maximus, in the hands of a skilled user, could also morph into a woman, child, etc. Probably not any monsters but the morphing tech, however primitive, was there. So, I'd say Apollo was the first as it has a lot in common with Genesis. Genesis can do so much more, though. :)
Jazlyn is a cool model

Genesis has full body male and female morphs and AM does not, so it’s not the same thing. Genesis 2 female has full body female morphs, but I’d be surprised if it ever has full body male morphs and I doubt if G2 male will have full body female morphs. There have been gender-changing morphs since Generation 2, with questionable success (IMO).
Some significant recent developments related to Genesis:
* With the release of Carrara 8.5, Carrara now officially supports Genesis (and it comes with the V5 and M5 bundles, too).
* One of the few gaps in Genesis's versatility--the inability of the figure to turn into a traditional mermaid--has now been filled. People have been asking for Genesis mermaids for ages, and thanks to SickleYield and Fuseling, now it's possible. So what's left? What are your biggest wishes for new Genesis products?
Personally I'd like to see some bird people (V4 got Creatura the Harpy, and V4 and M4 got The Bird Cult, and Genesis at least has the toon Duckie but I'm looking for more realistic options). I'd also like to see some more kid characters...after all, not many are satisfied with Basic Male and Basic Female, so why should we settle for Basic Child?
In other recent release news, I've noticed that 220 Emotions for Genesis is getting some rave reviews on the forum...I thought I had enough expressions packages, but I've added this to my wishlist.
Mermaid Genesis, Octogenesis, and Gorgon all show that it's possible to replace the lower part of Genesis with a poseable non-human form, so it would be nice to see a centaur for Genesis. I would also love to see sets of non-avian wings (bat, dragon, pterosaur, insect, etc.) for Genesis; I love Epic Wings, but there are other wing types that aren't represented.
Bird people would be nice. I would love to see some animalistic textures (and/or presets for LAMH & Garabaldi) to use with the Creature Creator shapes. Lots of animal heads there, but appropriate skins would be really nice. The version of Duckies that is sold here at DAZ is nice, but the original version that was sold at Rendo is much less cartoony. AFAIK, it's not available any more.
A bigger variety of kid morphs would be great. Perhaps along the lines of Zev0's Growing up.
The emotions for Genesis is a great set. There's a ton of possibilities, especially once you start mixing the expressions. I highly recommend getting them.

Agreed, a Centaur would be great. As for wings, here is Geografted bat wings for Genesis. http://www.daz3d.com/popobawa-for-genesis
Good to see you recommended the 220 expressions. So gonna get that when I have the money. :)
Something I've been clamoring for is a more versatile "chunky" Genesis. JoeQuick's Muck is similar, but it's too... "mushy" I guess. A blocky Genesis morph that you can make Golems and Ben Grimm characters out of, that works with both male and female morphs.
Related to that, a 4 finger morph. I see 3 finger morphs a lot, but 4 fingers (essentially removing the pinky) is missing. Ditto for 4 toed morphs. :)
There's a 4 finger morph in Dariofish's Shapes for Genesis. (three fingers and a thumb)
I've used V4.2, G1/V5 and G2F/V6. Genesis 1 was a significant improvement over V4.2 and G2F is an even greater improvement over G1. (Sorry guys, but I'm not impressed by the G1 is more versatile than G2F arguments, I think the cons outweigh the pros. The female skeleton is significantly different from the male one in both shape and articulation.)
I've been experimenting with auto-fitting V4 gowns onto V6, with mixed results. Auto-fit is notoriously bad at handling full-length gowns. I get the best results when the gown comes with separate skirt and top components. I use the V4 morph for G2F to change V6 into the V4 shape. The skirt is then directly fitted to V6 (cancel auto-fit when the window pops up) and parented to the figure. Everything above the waist is then auto-fitted to V6. One other problem area is very long sleeves. Auto-fit generally screws them up (in almost every sense of this term). If I figure out a solution to this, I'll let you know.
Please check the Original Post. FYI: This thread is for Genesis 1 fans. There are more than enough other threads for G2F fans/supporters or G1 vs. G2F debates and support. You can most certainly post your support for Genesis 1 here. If that's not your cup of tea, try the other aforementioned threads for promoting your support of G2F/V6. :)
Isn't this available for Genesis Creature Creator as well?
While there are dozens of things to gush about, like the beautiful bending, the ability to wear almost any clothing set ever created (sans a lot of the dang shoes,) I think the thing that I love the most about Genesis is that I can assemble a complete costume on a generic shape and store the whole thing as a preset. Then I can create as many complete characters as I want and store those as presets as well, so whether I want to create a bunch of background characters or have a main character change outfits, it's just a matter of pulling up a couple of presets and combining them with only a minimum of tweaking required afterwards thanks to Aufto-fit... even if I designed the costume for a toon human and end up putting it on a realistic Gorilla/Cat hybrid. Not only is it an incredible time-saver that lets me pull huge numbers of characters in full costume virtually out of mid-air when there's a time crunch, but it also gives me the freedom to experiment and focus on just one aspect of creation at a time whenever I have the time and/or inclination. In other words, Genesis has effectively given me the ability to "doodle" in 3D, playing around with ideas as the muse hits, and then allows me to hold them, intact, in DS until I need to call them back up again when I find a use for them. And that's pretty darn awesome.

There's only the three finger morphs (two fingers and a thumb) and two toes with the creature creator expansion.
On that note, I did check Dariofish's stuff, and there is indeed a 4 finger hand morph. A four toed morph is also available (for free!) if a survey is done over that other site.

Ahhhh, my mistake. Thanks for the correction. :)
I absolutely LOVE DarioFish's morphs! I own several of them already. :)
Unsubscribed again. DAZ really knows how to pick forum software! lmao
Might be more reliable just to bookmark 'em and check back regularly.

Yay! I grabbed that one, but hadn't checked out the morphs yet. :) Ayooooaaahhh! Time to go visit the world of Two-Moons
I like Genesis 1 more now that I can make my female characters shaped and featured more like Vicky 4. I love throwing on some M4 clothing so my character has a decent garment instead of her navel forever hanging out. No one has seen my navel since 1966, I don't enjoy looking at other peoples, and more importantly, my gals are working with machinery, so they need working garments. I love Privateer on Genesis. Looks so good. I do like some of the more feminine gowns of V3 fitting her. Very nice textures to those.
Recently I posted in New Users a sad tale: I just bought 220 Expressions for Genesis, and Genesis Evolution: Head Morphs. They do not work in my DAZ 4.0. I had earlier purchased the Genesis Evolution: Body Morphs which do work. I'm sad. Could there be an Easter Egg or tricky work around?
I was put off by Genesis' puffy cheeks and blobby lips. I like cheekbones and thin lips for my characters, not overly makeup'd working folks, not mall princesses. I am so ignorant of the options, I did not buy the dang Head Morphs when they came out. Now it appears, thanks to assistance by another poster, Patience, that the current format is really some other format despite being named the same: .dsf when I purchased them last week.
Is there a way to make her lips thin, her cheeks less puffy? I can choose a non makeup skin texture, but those lips gotta go. I've tried pulling in the bottom lip but that does weird things to expressions. I'd like to make her eyes smaller too including the irises. But, I do like the versatility. Don't like the surprises with feet and hands with preset poses, but overall, she has such versatility in physique and has won a place in my art heart.
edited to add attachment. Here is Genesis 1 with Sundari skin, but not the morph because it won't work, the V3 shape, and sissylebeaux hair and a wonderful gown from DAZ for V3. Necklace for V3 by Anton.
I have the Evolution Head morphs (and Body Morphs), and they work fine in 4.0 for me. I got them as part of the Genesis Starter Bundle set (not to be confused with the Starter Essentials).
@Tramp Graphics
ooo! Perhaps there is hope yet. Did you get the bundle early on, or recently? I'm prepared to admit I may not have put the Evolution Head Morphs in the right place. I put them in the same library folder as the Evolution Body Morphs which do work. I just plopped the entire file in, there seem to be many layers. Should I pull out the key folders and just use those?
One of my favorite renders for showing off the range of Genesis, a slight revision of a piece I originally did for the Shader contest earlier this year. The girl is Genesis wearing a kit bash of V3, V4 and Genesis outfits and the creatures are also all Genesis with Fisty's wine shader on the outside and Gen 3 skeletons on the in.
Here's a Genesis 1 as an experimental character. She has the 1950s Guy cloths on, and the Leather Jacket. Her skin texture is Horizon, a very nice older woman character. Again, no morphs because it's the Genesis base.
As a flipflop, I have a Genesis male figure wearing some female clothes, and Kurt hair, I think. His skin texture is Yago. We've all met this guy at art openings, haven't we? LOL! I made this to show a client how models can be scaled, moved into "distance" or "close", and lighting, and how they could look "non-heroic". I think the wine glass is by B9999 from her picnic basket.
This kind of character versatility is what I like about Genesis.
Two more personal favorites. Smay's magnificent Stalker Girl and the sublime Aiko 5.

All of my Evolution morphs are there, both body and head. Here's a piece I just finished rendering this morning:
The Genesis Evo morphs should work fine on 4.0. I've had them since they came out and, although I use 4.5+ now, they did work in 4.0.
In addition, have you installed the free DieTrying's 182 V4 morphs for Genesis that Sickleyield modified? Face morphs (like lips, nose, mouth, etc.) are included. You can find it here:
http://www.sharecg.com/v/58198/
It works on DAZ 4.0 and higher and it's a wonderful resource, combining well with the commercial morphs.
By the way guys and gals, I'd like to let everyone know that in celebration of Servant's 16 years (created 1997) and as my belated birthday gift last September 5th to everyone, the first issue of the digital comic is available now for FREE Download (in PDF, CBZ, and EPUB formats)! Check the link here:

I use Genesis a lot in my work (saves me a lot of time and costs, really!). I've posted a couple of images from the comic before. Here's a couple more samples using Genesis 1:
Thanks, though I have to say it's more about the strength of the assets used. Stalkie, in particular, is rather hard to get an uninteresting render of as she's so radically different from the normal run of Victoria based ladies with her hooded eyes, serpentine figure and lightly scarred skin, while the A5 base manages the difficult trick of being realistic but stylized just enough to avoid the uncanny valley even in extreme close-ups. In both cases, these are early test renders I did right after picking up the items and they stuck in my head as being the moments when I went from "I like this character" to to "Hey, I really, REALLY like this character."
@Tramp Graphics
Nice render with many characters. Well, nothing works. It was worth trying several different things. I guess I bought a later separate version.
@BorgyB
thanks for the referral to the 182 Genesis morphs by SickleYield which do work! YAY! I like the way she turned out, strong but not a superhero, and feminine but not a princess. I may bulk up some related characters, but mostly, I want a face that doesn't look like a magazine cover, someone who hasn't had silicon injections or pounds of foundations. They would just sweat it off. That would be a scary look!
I've attached a render of my latest attempt with my experiment. I've kit-bashed quite a bit. Hair is Casual Slick, Boots from M3 soldier, Sorts Happy Camper, Vest and belt is Domino. Torso sweater texture from Knitterea. Perhaps others find my post boring with no props or scene. I apologize for no scenery, but I have been keen on getting Genesis to look the way I want her too, and she has responded.
RAMWolf also has a very nice batch of free morphs for Genesis1 to add some more variations
