How do you turn textures into shaders?

I bought the ISource Wood textures Vol. 2 thinking they would work like shaders since the promo photos show them as Nvidia shader balls and the promos have the Iray symbol.  But they loaded into the General folder as a selection of textures.  How do I convert this merchant resource of textures to shaders I can use?

  • You need to asign the desired base shader to the surfaces you want to affect (there is a preset for iray Uber Base under Shader presets>Iray in category lists), then in the Surfaces pane you click the icon to the left of the property bar you want to apply the map to, select Browse..., and find the map, and adjust the values as needed. When done either use File>Save as>Materials preset to save settings for that specific model or, with a single surface selected on a selected model, File>Save As>Shader preset to save a file you can apply to selected surfaces on any selected model.
