Do you think Clothes for G3 modeled better than for G2?

why buy new new when you can get older for cheap?
Is the quality any better really..to spend 10% more like in current huge sale?

I think they're equally good generally and I still use G2 clothing, even on G8. Shoes can be a little tricky sometimes, but most clothes fit with a little smoothing.

Works great and definately needed for the clones to fit older clothing to G3

the problem with older vs newer clothing isn't a quality one, it's a fit one. When you autofit you can lose quality and integity because the rigging is different and this can warp the mesh and stretch textures. I use older clothing all the time, some works great, some not so much. It all comes down to how picky you are with the final results

Sometimes autofit makes things worse; instead try positioning, scaling and adjusting.

Other times a quick dforce works well.. actually better as clothes look like they are cloth, not a facsimile thereof.

What if you render iray and G2 clothing is not optimised for iray?

You can easily change the shaders and most clothing items. Some might use textures with burnt in shadows/specularity (although this is rare even for older clothing textures), but you can often swap the textures with new ones as well.
