Skinbuilder 3 is actually included too and they did fix it, as it's now showing the correct discount in cart. You may just own it already so you don't see it.
Looks like we're getting an accidental sneak preview of tomorrow's sale...
Yeah, I was just looking at it again and realised it's another banner for today's sale - pretty sure I didn't see that banner earlier. Maybe I've become so used to ignoring ancient V4/M4 stuff that I totally blacked out when I saw it.
I had unchecked Hide Items I Own so that excuse won't fly :(
I also wish the warning. There are multiple vendors now that I would have stocked up on if I had realized their products were going to disappear from the store. I'm not sure why Daz doesn't give folks a chance to buy before removing.
Why is Ultrascatter in the Wishlist sale but not Ultrascatter Pro? It's not a new item, and from what I've read on another thread, Ultrascatter Pro can do everything that Ultrascatter does plus more, so there is no reason to buy the lesser one.
The wishlist sale is supposedly composed of items that many-many people have on their wishlists. The old Ultrascatter is probably on the wishlist of more people than the newer version.
@Kharma, and any one else who is kicking themselves for not picking up various products by Moyra before she left Daz, (because we didn't know she was leaving,) I have it on good authority everything will be available again over time, between new releases.
Moyra has moved her store to that otheR site, and if you look at her vendor profile over there, you will see she is now listed as an exclusive vendor. You can also Follow her over there and get notifications when products are released.
It's always sad when a vendor decides to relocate. Moyra will certainly be missed around here. However, I'm personally delighted she moved, as opposed to deciding to quit and pull all her products.
in this context - vendor leaving - like other people i also wish that we could get the chance to know about it like, 1-2 weeks before or just asap, so that we might be able to have a last look through their store and buy what we really wished for a long time... because not all vendors move to another well known site or open their own store.
and even if they do, anything bought anywhere else doesn't work with DIM & smart panel, which is particularly annoying for textures/recolors of stuff bought here.
the sales dpt (and the PAs ofc) should earnestly think about this as an important matter - c'mon guys, a peak in sales for a few days and satisfied customers? what's there not to like?
and about Moyra, i'm also sad she left, her items were awesome and very appreciated - i'd follow her anywhere ^^
It would be good, but probably DAZ wouldn't want it to happen. They have 100++ PA artist and some leave and some join, so every X week we would get that someone leaves, that would be bad PR. Something like this could only happen if there would be notes about PA-s joining DAZ too with newsletter, ect... what does the new PA bring, what are their product, what kind of modelling are they doing (sooner or later DAZ will be forced to do something like this I think)
ATM I think if a smaller PA artist leave 99,9% of DAZ costumers didn't notice it. Big one causes troubles for DAZ and people think of conspiracy teories, like how this is the .... pull out this year. With newsletter about artists this could be evaded, but that's something DAZ don't have atm.
bad PR.. yeah, maybe, ok, if people leave because they're upset or anything. but i think there are many other reasons to leave, like family, health, being busy with other projects...
anyways, i don't really care, why someone leaves is none of my business. not being able to have a chance to buy things i had planned to is tho, and i find it way worse than whoever thinks whatever about the company, it's just bad customer service imo. i don't care if the company has a good image or not, if i buy stuff there it's because selfishly, it fills my needs, not because i admire, esteem, respect or like them. i'm not working for them, the company i shop at is just a chain link between me and the items i want, they're not important. what's important is that i can get my stuff easily, cheap, that the quality/functionality is good, and that i can rely on items being there until i buy them... i.e. wishlists, bargain sales, being informed about stuff being retired, quality control, updates...
and while some news & infos are useful, some 3d sites just spam my email and their newspage daily with their manyfold newsletters/posts about everything i couldn't care less about, those are mails that wander immediately into the bin mostly unread after a quick peek ~ my hobby is buying + using 3d stuff for fun, not following x-activities of a store and/or other people's.
I feel just the opposite. I 'choose" not to be tied to DAZ products because of DIM use (which I don't use) or any other factor and loathe monopolies, so other stores are always welcome with me. I buy just as much elsewhere as I do at DAZ and support vendors based on products first and foremost. I wish Moyra the best and will be checking out her store oer time at Rendo.
I personally don't think DAZ should have warned anyone also. Seems it was the vendors choice and as such if they are moving/leaving it is on them to say so in the forums, not DAZ. It's like when your significant other cheats on you and you get mad at the person they are cheating on you with and not the siginificant other whoses fault it is.
I agree totally..making me wary as well..had I known that I had picked those items up last weekend as well :
... I really liked her South Beach Deco items
Of the 8 new releases on the Now THAT Is a Man promo page, only one is a male--but 4 (50%) are either Sexy Women or Stuff (stereotypically) for Women, and the others are random New Releases. OH-kaaaay...
Yes, I know the 60% Off items on the page are all G8M, but still...
That !
I dunno, there is precedent (although it's from a while back) — when LisaB left DAZ, all her Botanicals were also pulled from the store. IIRC they were all PC items. (And I'm still not sure if I'd managed to buy them all.)
Or... were the rules different way back then? I think this was before the big store change, and so before the PC was changed to PC+.
Yes, I know LisaB took her stuff but that was before it became PC+ The posts about PC+ items remaining that I've seen were at and after the change to PC+
Yes, Lisa's Botanicals were PC items, and were removed from the store when she left. Lisa was a founding member of the PC, like Moyra, which is probably why their items were treated differently than "regular" PC items.
LisaB was already gone when I got started here, but one thing that stood out to me, curiously, was all of Moyra's products were PC+. Over the past year and a half, I have seen vendor products suddenly become Daz Originals, and over time those became PC+. Obviously, Daz is buying older PA products and migrating some, (most? all?) over to PC+. And there are the products created specifiically for PC+. But it is unusual, isn't it, for all of a vendor's products be PC+? Maybe that is our clue that that PA was a founder, and those products could disappear if that PA decides to move to another Marketplace. Anyone notice other PAs whose store is all PC+ products?
LaurieS: Nearly all her products are PC+ and the few that aren't are DAZ Originals
Not 100% PC+ but with large numbers or most of their (current) products with their name attached

I think the other site marks things as "clearance" when an item is soon to be retired. Maybe DAZ could start doing somethng like that with an icon on items in sales which are soon to be retired due to a PA leaving or whatever. Maybe instead of clearance, it could just be a "Last Chance" icon. At least we could get a few days notice and then they don't have to divulge any private details on the matter.

Rendo’s “clearance” system has nothing to do with vendors leaving the store, it’s a remainder of their system to automatically purge low-selling items from the store...
If you read what I wrote, I didn't say it implied vendors were leaving.
"...the other site marks things as "clearance" when an item is soon to be retired..."
I was making an analagous comparison as to how Daz might implement a similar strategy using "Last Chance". This way it doesn't imply anything negative. It doesn't imply an item is selling poorly by avoiding the "clearance" tag, it just says "Last Chance" so you know the item will soon be getting removed from the store for whatever reason.

The 'View These Artists Together ' link for today's sale does not work for me in either Firefox nor Chrome; this happens rather often on multi-artist sales. This link seems to work much better...

That link is created by the browser addon. We are aware of the issue, it's in our bugtracker for an upcoming release.
