I am curious how your Project EYEray cost is/was 72% off in the cart vs. the 70% off in my cart. I purchased it anyway, but wondered why there wasn't a little more off since I am a Platinum Club member.
I'm also not getting the extra 20% discount from the banner. Genesis 8 Female MEGA Wardrobe is in both the Victoria B-day sale and the Mermaid Song sale (OOT's catalogue is) so the extra 20% discount should apply, but it doesn't. Example cart attached.
Well, the birthday discount is working again. But I might skip getting FaceGen although its just $44. I'm on Mac and did not find a proper solution to run the Demo yet. Tried it with vine but that was not working that well. Parallels or Bootcamp might be a solution.
Now working, thanks folks.
I have a real concern about this post, has this been forwarded and brought to customer service's attention? This needs to be addressed immediately. It wasn't a cheap gift card, and it's an easy issue to address, so can someone please help this person?
I may be one of the few people actually happy with this sale (for once! LOL) I had left Daz for other stores when Genesis came out and was not originally Poser compatible and just came back mid-G3 post IRay when I decided to learn DS. Because of that I was able to get a ton of old content for Genesis and G2 at ridiculously low prices with the total being 87% off and on top of that the gift card discount. I spent way more than I intended and spent hours doing it, filling my cart, looking at the total, emptying the cart and buying a gift card worth the total, then reloading my cart, but I think it was worth it. Got lots of @Midnight_Stories stuff that I had in my wish list forever, I think I now own most of his store LOL! Then I realized Zero Gravity for V4 that I already own is exactly the same as Mars Explorer for Genesis, so could delete that from my cart. You have to be very careful, many PAs create the same outfits or hairs that are exactly the same for different generations. So I spent a lot more than I had planned, but it's rare to get 87% off in a non-glitch situation, so I took advantage of it and am happy
Update: Shortly before the close of business today for the help desk, I was contacted by customer support and they finally managed to get things fixed for me, but it was down to the wire. I was sitting on pins and needles sweating bullets over whether or not this issue would be resolved in time to take advantage of the sale. I did manage to check out and clear 57 items off my wishlist ( mostly pro bundles), and have already added a few more sale items to my cart to take care of the remaining $7.00 left from my gift card.
The poster contacted customer services, but they don't work on weekends so that is most likely the reason they haven't heard back, as far as I'm aware CS also don't read the forums.
It seems that studio 3xl has heard from CS and the problem has been sorted, pretty quick result really.
Hmmm, the Victoria Gift card coupon (for those of us that received that) is still valid (until June 27th), and there's mention of 10% off gift cards in today's Demon sale. Not sure if the code would still be valid if you've used it already.
Of course, the buy-in might be a bit too steep... unless you want two of the featured new releases of course!
Also pretty happy-the sale got me a free G8F character, a free-with-purchase medieval set, a pretty radical discount on Marshian's Body of Light and SickleYield's People of Earth for G3M and G3F, and VERY radical discounts on some old V4/Genesis hairstyles from Valea and the 3Dream/Mairy team. And the only buyin requirement was the Dog 8, which I liked on sight and was planning to get anyway.
yeah, I tried it and it works, but only gave me 19% off, so that was a sign I didn't need to invest another $200 in a GC at this time, LOL
Hey, i've just noticed this thread after I posted this message on New Users category. Except for Wonderland, no one seems to be talking about it, so i still don't know if it's normal or not. I'm posting it again, if someone would be kind enough to enlight me.
"I just wanted to know, maybe I'm just completely oblivious since i don't really follow every special offer on Daz, maybe it's a bug, maybe it's something else I don't know, but yesterday I noticed that many products from the shop, mostly the oldest ones, were 90/85/80 % off. I know that sometimes DAZ have crazy sales but I'm not sure I've seen anything about this one. So I bought a few things I wanted, thinking "why the hell not?", and that was it. But today obviously, those sales have disappeared and I feel like I should've bought more of it.
So my question is was that normal ? Is it a regular thing or expected for another time of the year ? If yes, around what period ? Cause I'd sure buy many more stuff from daz if they had those special offers again, and would buy things i'd never buy at all otherwise, even if it's mainly old products.
Thank you for your insights. "
These big discounts are not unheard of, but they don't happen every week. It's best to wishlist the items you want, and keep a close eye on them.
Alright so it is done purposely by DAZ then? It's no mistake. If so, what do you think would be the regularity of it? Just so I get a broad idea of it. More like once a month, a trimester or a year for example. Thanks.
The items of some artists go on sale more other than others. If there's a particular item you are interested in, then I can take a look at its price history over the last year, that might give you an idea. Of course, past performance is no indication of any future sales.
Yesterday was the last day for a special Victoria Birthday sale where items in different categories were discounted 60%-80% off and with the extra 20% off banner for those of us who could not take advantage of the free older Victoria products because we already owned them. This led to older items in that category going down to up to 88% off. This was not a glitch, it lasted for about 5 days and stated it would end last night. Great sale!
The code only worked once for me. And today's sale makes no sense to me. Can someone explain it? I made a separate post about it here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/261396/don-t-understand-today-s-sale
Maybe I need more coffee. Or electric shock therapy. But I don't understand the wording of it....
Thank you both for your answers. I don't have any product in particular i'd want. I just realised how great this kind of sale was and regretted a bit not having bought more things during it. So I was just wondering when a similar event could happen so i could "fill up the cart". If you tell me that a similar sale to "Victoria birthday" ( =~90% sale on all the older products) will most likely happen at least once again this year, that would be great. Even if that means i'll have to check the shop out every few days, that'd still be reassuring for me.
Ati, was there anything wonky with the site or app today? I received an email telling me that bunch of the i13 products I have on my wishlist were on sale, but when I checked, they are/were not.
For future reference, 40% off is fairly common, 50% a bit less, 60% happens somewhat often.
70% off (or the fast grab) for a given item isn't very common, and definitely worth considering.
80% off might be considered rare/once or twice a year if you are lucky.
Anything over 80% is an exceptional deal.
Platinum Club items are already heavily discounted, but they go on sale to. 50% off Plat Club items happens every so often, occasionally you'll see steeper discounts on these.
The cheapest 'non-free' pricing I've seen on an item was 8 cents (during the V4 sale in March) but that was highly unusual/the only time I've ever seen prices that low. The previous time I was seeing 23 cents an item as a low. I seem to remember a coupon also being in play for the first intance. Both times these were on pre-Genesis items. This is with the Platinum Club membership discount in play of course. Definitely consider Plat Club if you plan to spend more than say a few hundred a year here.
Also, you need to factor the item's 'generation into this discussion. 80% off for Victoria 4 era figures & items happens every so often (a couple times a year maybe), 70% for V5, and maybe V6, 60% off for V7+ may be a good deal. This'll give you an idea r.e. the 'pattern' to watch for. Mainly, 60% off of new (Genesis 8/less than a year old) items is considered a good deal.
We used to have 'stacking discounts' from multiple sales running simultaneously when the same vendors or products were in multiple sales, which would trigger these, but the Daz sales team has really tightened up on this, so it's more of a rare occurence now.
If you are looking for something more specific, if you do not have the Daz Deals plugin for your browser yet, definitely look into that (see the Daz Deals thread). It includes adding graphs on the various product pages that shows the pricing on an item over the previous year, with drops corresponding to when they went on sale. This way, if there's something you don't need immediately, you can use the graphs to help judge how good a deal you may be getting on the item when deciding to buy or wishlist the item.
The Daz Deals graph does not take into account any additional discounts that you may end up with due to coupons hitting your inbox. Coupons are generally related to 'loyalty' buyers and previous purchases, so these can be a bit hard to predict. The really low prices you see people occasionally mention may be related to a coupon that they received, as well as the sales discounts in force already for a given sale. Keep this in mind.
Also, the Daz Deals graph may not take prerequisites into account (i.e. buy 2 items to get bigger discount, etc.), but again you can use the graph history go give you a bit of a feel for how good a deal you may be getting.
Some vendors rarely go on sale (sometimes very rarely), others go on sale fairly often. Again, the Daz Deals thread can help you when trying to figure this out.
Hope this helps give you some 'rules of thumb' to follow.
They were on quite a huge sale for days. Is that what you mean? If not, can you give me an example product? I'll check. But in general, there was nothing wrong with the app. The prices may have dropped in the store for a few minutes, we've seen that happen.
We can't guarantee you that such a sale will come back later this year. But we've seen sales like that in the past--not once.
However, coming back every few days is not the best you can do. Come back several times a day. There are flash sales that only last a couple of hours, and blink sales that last for only up to 2 hours.
You can also sign up for wishlist notification to see when stuff on your wishlist go on sale, or just to see when a new sale starts in general: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/106296/announcing-daz-deals-browser-add-on/p1
Same here. Also Vintage Double Decker Bus and Balneae are not getting the 60% discounts. Only Double Decker Bus Ride seems to get the 60% discount with one of this weeks new PC+ releases.
So what is the deal with today's banner that says "Get a Free DAZ Original - Details Inside?" There are no details, and when you put one of them in your cart, it isn't free. I also put a new release in there too. Still $11 for an old V4 item. Nope.
Is Victoria final weekend still up?
I get the same thing
That's a marketing error on DAZ's part. They should've just made the Victoria 4 freebie image part of the 3D Universe sale. Or they can just remove the link.
This should be fixed now.
