There are no black dots.  They are the illusion.  Walk away from the screen and look at it from a distance.

I saw them so they must have been there

Go stand outside and you can't even see the computer.smiley

More to the point. copy the image to another page and magnify it to the max. The black dots are there, each surrounded by a white outline. I can't on the other hand see them all at once (which might be my own diabetic eye damage at fault. (No offence meant.)

...it plays with the "blind spot" on your retina.  I remember an interesting test we did back in school to illustrate it.

surprise I'll be jiggered!  I thought it was a refinement of the phantom dots seen in the crossing points  of horizontal & vertical gray lines on a white background. yes

Perhaps this one works so well on me because I have more than one blindspot in each eye and I've got crap floating in the middle of my eyeball too.  I see things disappearing and floating around all the time. frown  For the last week the crap in my left eye has moved closer to the retina and I see sharply focused tiny little black dots that look like ants crawing on my arm.  I've swatted at them a couple of times. blush  Then as I move my eyes quickly the spots fly into the air and float to a new spot. frown

...yeah I have "floaters" in one eye as well.

What I did was lean back and focused above the centre that way I could see all 12 at the same time.

How can you add eight 2s together so that they make up a total of 250?

not quite, you only need the 2s, not the zeros

    Bitter or sweet

    A little or much

Soft and light or hard and heavy

    Builds or destroys

And from it, none can flee

    What is it?

Oh I was going to ask this question; if someone had a ton of coins in the back of a Silverado truck and tried to give the truck and money for you for a dollar or he will keep the truck and coins and give you a check for $40,000.  Assume the truck is in good conditon (aka it runs well even with a ton of coins in the back) and also the amount of each value of coin is random and unknown. The truckbed was lined to keep the coins from falling out.  The coins are a mixture of current currency.  To the seller's knowledge there are no paper form of money in it.  The only reason he is charging you a dollar for the truck is because he had to charge you something to consider it a sale.  No matter which one you choose, he would like you to do one of the following; Create a short computer animation or teach him how to use his computer and to use 3D software on it or help him find a freelancer who can make his movie for him.

Which would agree to help this man? If so, would you get the truck with all the coins in it or the check?

Upon on quick reflection, I'd take the truck as long as it was not an ancient wreck, and in good working condition, and if he also provided all the paperwork to prove it is not stolen and now legally transferred.  I would take the truck instead of the $40,000 check regardless of the value of the coins in the back.   A decent truck itself has value.  A check is too easily cancelled but a ton of coins is not.  Assuring that I would definately come out ahead on the deal rather than ending up with nothing.

HOWEVER, that is only my opinion upon quick reflection.  I have no idea of your capability to satisfy your end of the bargain nor do I know to what extent the giver would go to extract retribution should you fail to meet his needs.  Nor have I calculated the possible range of values of the coins.  Assement of risk vs reward is a good idea in any case.

...I would go for the Canadian ones as they appear to have a time release coating.   Not all that good to get too much smarts all at once.
