    Got bored with TV tonight so I'm sitting here DAZing and tuned in the radio to the Buffalo classical station.  It only took me a minute to recognize the style.  Ah ha, I says, "Mahler".  Very Mahlerish.  Not that I really like Mahler all that much but some of his stuff is interesting.  So I looked up the station's "now playing" list and saw that it was his 2nd symphony "The Resurrection Symphony".  Parts of it are OK, but I always skip the entire 4th movement of that piece because of the vocals and I don't like the end of the 5th movement with the vocals there either.  I don't particularly care for vocals in symphonic music.  Beethoven's 9th symphony is an exception and I love it.  But Mahler is so damn longwinded. indecision  The Resurrection Symphony is 5 movements instead of the typical four, and his 5th movement is 33 minutes by itself. frown  But movements 1,2 & 3 are nice to listen to.  Mahler has a very recognizable combination of instruments and tonality.  I'm not going to point you to his 2nd symphony.  If you're interested you can find it easily on YouTube.

    HOWEVER, if you are curious about Mahler and want to hear a short sample in the background as non jarring music, I suggest the 10 minute 3rd movement of his 1st symphony "The Titan".  A persistent plodding.  You can almost see parade of farmers wheeling carts of goods through the German forest on dirt roads, and even hear the cuckoo calling.     Been quite windy today, think the birds are hiding out somewhere else. TGIF not complaint, been quite overwhelmed with scripts and revisions and revisions to.revisions, and side notes, so not feeling very organised.

    I feel like I have a wedgie.  Got an apple phone and a banana phone.  Which one should I eat as I am hungry as I skipped breakfast.   I think I will eat the cheaper one.

    COMPLAINT: Had a pair of house wrens find a way into my screen porch ,they made a nest , laid eggs , were feeding the babies and had actually started toerating me as long as I sat still . Last night night I took my dogs out looked up at the nest and there was a 2 foot long snake (rat snake I think) coming out of the nest ........I grabbed the rake and knocked the snake down it's got 3 or 4 lumps in it's body ,which I have to assume were the baby birds.......and it's pissed at me !! Greedy little b@$turd  .I used the rake to get it out of the screen room and let the dogs back in .But now it's a bit depressing I was looking forward to the the baby birds flying and hiding around my screen room .....

    Why is  there such an obsession with food?  Not even for humans, it is even with Fish.  My fish get into a feeding frenzy when they think fish food will be coming or they hope it will be appearing soon.
