removing specular from reference photos

Hi i use some of 3d.sk photo refs to texture, is there any good way to remove specular/shine from the skin in photoshop? Thanks :)

    I think there are probably several ways to reduce skin specularity from photos in Photoshop, including using the burning tool, adjusting levels, and maybe cloning out the particularly bright spots. I don't have a definitive answer for you, but there is a really good video on YouTube demonstrating how to do the latter fairly easily. Here is a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vV8-ITRaYfI

    If the mods remove the link for any reason, I simply searched "Reducing Shine Hotspots on Skin" in YouTube's search feature.

    I really did not think it would get removed. There wouldn't be any reason for it, but just in case... I did not want to forget where I got the info thereby not being very helpful to OP.
