i have alot of V4 animations

will always get foot sliding if stride does not match transform

so scaling will come into play if you can save that

If you watch this video, at 14:00 he does something.  Maybe try that?  I dont know if that works, as i dont animate.

moving the hip (y)axis is a old trick we use to do for converting and making generation4 aniblocks & mixamo bvh files to work for genesis 2  and ita a nice work around for fixing some feeting sliding around issues. its a a huge work around for pose to pose animation squences as well. its not much help with ik-chains issues causing feet skating though

Do you find that you have the infamaous G3 foot sliding when you use this technique? I tried several times and get a lot of feet sliding. I'm wondering if turning off IK has any effect on it. Thanks!

There is always foot sliding with Mixamo anims, and most other imported anims, but there is a pretty easy fix for it. Once you have translated the anim to the Daz character, on frame 1 select the Bone tool. In the Scene tab, twirl down your Daz character, and select Hip. You will see a tri-directiional "gizmo" on the hip. Click and hold on the GREEN (vertical) arrow, and drag that gizmo down so it is on the "floor."

That will be the end of the foot sliding.

    And to Wendy: FABULOUS DISCOVERY!

See the fix I just posted above. It works.

Here's the video I learned it from. This is an entire turorial on using Mixamo in Daz Studio, but if you want to jump to the instructions for fixing the sliding, go to about 7:30:

Mixamo and Daz 3D--How to Combine Mixamo Animations in Daz

ETA: Oops. I just saw that @mjavadtajik90 has posted this, too. Well, can't have too many fixes available for moon-walking! :)

thanks as indeed the root node in iClone does have that bone to the ground so explains a lot yes

  • The other missing element is to copy and paste the Twist a parameter animation frames for the ARMS, FOREARMS and LEGS from the Gen 2 figure to the Gen 3 figure. Use Graphamte to do this. This is the secret sauce. This comepetely stabalizes the animation. Gen 2 to Gen 3 Arm and Leg twists are one of the major roadblocks in coverting a poses/animations.
