Armor n weapons seem to keep canceling each other out.If we never started with the stupid armor maybe we would still be fighting with sticks n we could all go home after the war.

I think Rome had the best Army cause there where the best trained and smartest.

If we had 2 full armored knights n battle horse in the coliseum ,It would be a guess bet.

If we had a full armored knight n battle horse and Bruce Lee in the coliseum ,I'd bet on Bruce.

And Bruce'll be shirtless.  His skimpwear.

...and take everyone down, even the guys with guns and blades.

Jackie would do it with a mop, a bucket, and a chair

Chair and ladders are more the style of Jackie Chan.

I'm really surprised Aeon Soul's The Legend armor hasn't been mentioned and evaluated yet in this discussion. Flat boots, full coverage, adjustable shoulder pad ridiculousness. Lots of pieces to make it easy to mix and match and fix other suits.

...crikey that's like a wearable Stonemason set with all those pieces.

Yep, and it's STILL sexy!  Excellent balance between what looks good and can still be used for protection.  I love that set.  I like that I can dress G8F up or down as needed.  It's like a complete wardrobe for the traveling knight.  One of the very few expensive clothing sets that I think is worth its price.

You can give me all the weapons n armor you want ,I'm still not missing with Bruce or Jackie.

Aeon Soul has always been killer Venders,Seems they have mellowed out over the years.

You do have a good point as it could pertain to skimpwear.  Perhaps, our fantasy middle ages / future / post apocalyptic gal really wants some gear that is light enough to move quickly and skimpy enough to stay cool.  She's a badass fighter and the armor is more for protecting specific areas that might enter the fray on the attack - and not needed for defense.  As long as she can move quickly and unencumbered, she'll avoid anything sharp getting within range of her sensitive bits...and of course, she'll look great at the club later. :)

Yeah. It IS super - expensive but making plans to get it on sale kind of works. And it combos so nicely with their other sets AND looks great on males too.

And yet it still has high heels and gaps at the upper thigh (thigh high "boots".

I don't see a problem with the "thigh gaps" as you call them, given that they're placed at a point where there would logically be no hard armor anyway to prevent restriction of movement. The Mail shirt does a good job of covering everything else. The only "flaw" of the whole set then, if you want to call it that, would be the heeled boots, and those can always be swapped out with a different pair of boots.

well I just bought Guardian of the Citadel on sale and the heels are a surface that can be hidden and the feet posed flat so sharing this so you know.

What was rather startling though is she has no pants.

the boots just almost meet her little panties.

Genesis 8 material zones make fixing this with an undelying fabric skin shader rather difficult too, geoshells, LIE etc only possible alternatives.

I would have bought this - mostly because of OOT's great textures - if it wasn't for the hole and the strap on the chest which IMO ruins an otherwise great design.

That's an excellent looking product and I would definitely buy if I needed a female barbarian. I'm personally looking for more of the 'pasty'-like Frazetta-ish wear that was common in classic Conan and 70s-90s fantasy art. I know it's not everyone's style, but there are times when we need purely decorative fantasy clothing for characters like slaves, demonesses (in my case), princesses, etc.

I still use Gareee's V4 Martian Princess outfit to this day because the top was customizable and parts could be hidden to create different looks. Like Greymom said, having options for outfits might be able to please many more people. Including decorative trim on armor that could double as skimpy decorative covering when the main armor piece is hidden would really be beneficial and raise the appeal of the product.

edit: My requests for skimpwear armor also applies to men. Until fairly recently, we didn't have a whole lot of purely beefcake barbarian wear with just a big belt and loincloth.

Considering that someone pushed this topic back to the front...let me take this opportunity to advertise armor that is fully covering :-)

    Link doesn't work.

  • As gorgeous as The Legend is, I've got problems with it.  One, the horse-head on the helmet is really hard to hide if you don't want the ornamentation.  Two, the stomache and hips are still only leather armored.  Great for flexibility, but when everything else is heavy metal, it's an odd gap.

FWIW, I totally agree with the OP. When our beautiful heroine with fantastical super powers travels thru a time warp to the planet Gorgon in the year 3560 to battle the evil dragon monsters who shoot laser beams from their eyes and read our minds, she should at least be wearing practical and sensible outfits so as not to be too unrealistic. laugh

Skimpware rocks. Any time, any place.

I concur regarding the horse head, but I think armoring the stomach and hips ruins the silhouette, and that's why they left it off. Fantasy Leather Shaders has a few chainmail shaders that do pretty well, and that could be an option.

Yep, I've been making skimpywear fantasy scenes since 1999 and I will fight anyone who disagrees with this, any time, any place.   ;)
