I have been wanting this for so long.  Thank you for making it, and for making it both genders in one.  I don't think I've ever bought anything that fast in my life! ^_^

Was hoping for Gen3 for G8 but this works as well.

BTW Has there been an unlock for G8 Power Pose template to make it work with G3?

  • I have never bought anything faster at the Daz store in my life, lmao. This thing is amazing. Like I said to them on DA, while it's great that SY was kind enough to give us all a tutorial to do it for free, I'd gladly pay for the convenience to autofit clothes the fast way.

So, thank you, SickleYield. You're amazing!

  • thanks for this Sickleyield, bought this so fast, didn't see what else was for sale.

Gen 3 clones for Gen 8 are native to Daz Studio

The DAZ clones need a little bit of improvement. I have several G3 clothes that have autofitting issues around the crotch area.

I think Tryhard meant "Gen 3" as in "Generation 3" (ie M3/V3/...) and not "Genesis 3'.

Way cool! It's sitting in the cart, waiting for Sunday. :) I'd be curious to know what templates were used for the torso/arm and waist/skirt armor in this promo image: https://www.daz3d.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/0/1/01-sy-genesis-8-clones-for-genesis-3-daz3d_1.jpg

The ones I made for G8 using SY's tutorial work better than the ones Daz included.

It allows you to use G8 clothing and hair on the G3 figures.

It’s true that the default g3 -> g8 one’s regularly crash Daz Studio for me.

    doesn't autofit already do that?

Autofit doesn't work unless there is a clone for any given figure that matches the clothing or hair you want to use. Genesis 8 has Genesis 3 clones, but Genesis 3 doesn't have Genesis 8 clones. Until now since SY made them. LOL

It IS a lot to keep straight, isn't it? When I first started to learn DS, clones were the one thing that confused the heck outta me. Well, that and Smart Content :P

Is there one of these for the G3F and G3M to go to G8F and G8M?  I have a TON of stuff for the G3 ppl that I'd like to use on G8.

Also, how does this work on shoes and boots?  In the past, there's been 'issues' trying to make shoes/boots from one generation fit another wihout mangling them.  In her dropdown, I don't see anything that says shoes/boots.

    Thanks.

Those are already included with the G8 figures. The G8 figures have more clones than past figures.

Footwear has always been a problem. Flats usually don't do too badly in most cases, but high heels are hit or miss. One high heeled footwear item I've had luck with on G8F is (oddly enough), the boots from Smay's Super Hero Suit for G2F. It takes a little bit of the shaping sliders and a little smoothing, but they look awesome ;). I used them in the linked image.

For footwear I would suggest using SY's tutorial to change compatibility base rather than autofit: https://sickleyield.deviantart.com/journal/Tutorial-Convert-Clothing-G3-to-G8-G8-to-G3-686682065

Great to finally see this officially and the extra skirt&tunic versions + projection templates make it an instant buy.  That said, has anyone who's bought this also been using the freebie clones from patience55, and if so, is there any issue with installing SY's version without having to remove the freebie ones first?

I'd like to add my own voice to the chorus here. This is a well received instant purchase.

Do I something wrong? I'm using https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-swim-shorts-for-genesis-8-male-s this shorts with this clone on a genesis 3 character. In the default pose it looks good, but as soon I do something with the legs it looks worse (on the hip... ease to fix with expanding and on the knee (dont know how to fix this)).'

I attached screenshots, also one with a genesis 8 male.

Adding a smoothing modifier to the clothes and upping the number of collisions with G3M might help.

You can transfer Gen 8's shape to G3F/G3M and make your own clones (as I have done), however they will not have the additional templates that the Sickleyield product includes, which should make some clothing items, in particular long dresses, cloaks etc, transfer better.

I'm so glad people are liking it. :) @gerster: All you can do at that point is add a smoothing modifier and up the samples. Autofit destroys jcms with or without a clone.

I love products like this. Bravo!

  • Excellent!! smiley

  • A quick question... Will this work without the G8 starter essentials installed? I haven't installed DS 4.10 or any G8 content since I've got no real interest in the G8 characters and an obsessive dislike of needlesly updating software that's working perfectly and does everything I need. However, there are probably a few outfits or hairs for G8 that I might consider if these clones will work without me having to install anything else.
