Thank you! to Richard Haseltine

I don't know if this is off-topic or not, but just wanted to express my appreciation for Richard Haseltine's answers to our questions.  I have learned a lot from those answers, no matter who asked the question.

So, thank you, Richard.

While I'm often frustrated with and disagree with some of the posts that get removed, I really like Richard and am very glad that he's such an active part of the Daz community. He's extremely helpful and works hard to help people out who have questions and he's a really indispensable part of the Daz community. I'm thankful for him and for him spending so much time and energy to help the community! heart

Yes, many thanks, Richard.  You are always postive and helpful.  I copy down many of your tips for later!

  • Thanks Richard, always very helpful

  • I echo those fine words.

Richard is always a help. Another thing I very much appreciate is his well-balanced approach to everything. He has a very decent way of bringing peace to some troubled verbal waters.

Agreed, especially with the first part, I am a mod on 3 gaming forums, so I know how it can be trying to keep the peace at times.  I have also learned quite a bit from the answers he and other mods have provided to the various questions on the forum, so I am thankful also.

    Thank you, Richard.

Richard and the other forum team members have to put up with folks like me.  They do an excellent job.  It is much appreciated.

Keep up the great work.  Hope you feel appreciated even when we do not say so.

Edited to remove what I thought was good natured and expressed the same sentiment as those above.  Apparently some people misinterpreted it as a slight.

Yes, thanks very much. I have learned much in DAZ Studio, even if I've forgot almost as much.

Richard does an awful lot for this community, and has every since I was new here - he answered some of my very first forum questions in 2008, when I barely knew how to model and had never rendered in Daz Studio at all.  He definitely deserves some appreciation. :)

    "All of the above" selected.

  • Let me get in here as well- thanks for always being one of the first to respond especially to the more technical questions. I don't know if I'll ever have even half the knowledge that he has.

Whenever it's suggested that we get a new forum, I think of Richard and of how long it would take him to re-write all the answers he's provided in this one! Thank you, Richard. Your contribution definitely hasn't gone unnoticed here.

Thats true. Thanks Richard for all you Do. If he can't help you with a problem, you found a Superbug in DAZ Studio, at least the size of the ones in Starship Troopers...

I second the greetings. Together with some other great helpers here such as @Tobor, @Exavior, @Kitakoredaz, @Wolf359, @The3digit and many others I can't remember just because my short memory. This is a great forum with passionate and helpful people.

I remember when I couldn't start Iray because of drivers, and couldn't distinguish between 3DL and Iray shaders. So I grow up in DAZ Studio thank to you people.

Big ups to Richard for all of his helpfulness. And also for cheeky patience with emotional whingers.

  • BeeMKayBeeMKay Posts: 7,019

Yes, I wouldn't be where I am, 3D-wise, without him. Thank you! heart

  • Richard has been very helpful over the years.  More than once he has pointed me in the right direction when I've had a tricky problem.  He really ought to get a slice of our royalties!  yes

  • Thank you (I'm sure that this is begging for me to really put my foot in it).

As Padone says, we are very lucky here to have a lot of people who have learnt the ropes and stuck around to give help to the newer users - that willingness to help is what makes the forums useful and enjoyable.

Fun fact: Did you know Richard Haseltine's avatar is actually a self portrait?  Mr. Haseltine is one of only three orange tabbies to have graduated Cambridge, he is also a highly decorated feline MI6 operative and once worked a stunt double for Garfield.

On behalf of my stupid brain, thank you Richard for having answered so many stupid questions with fairly obvious answers over all these years... Really... It's been a lot... Thank you sir!
