Just an HU to anybody that had acquired a certain character that came with a developer kit, they have uh, "clarified" their readmes and such to clearly state that neither the developer kit nor the otherwise merchant skin are to be used for making free items. :-(

That might explain why there has been such a lack of skins for her. Making from scratch is proving slow. I've take the face of one of Silvers skins and stretched the face in photoshop to over lay the provided skin. It;s very close but getting anything for hands and feet are next to impossible.

I see the same thing happening with Gen2Fem native based skin (not converted skins but originally made skins)

Everyone is having to start over and it's probably why we're seeing clothing and hair and morphs for them but not native based skins.

Was working away on a skin tutorial while setting up to make skins ... there's another reason why Dawn is going to be without a whole lot of skins [at least free ones] as there seems to be something amiss with the mapping and/or how it is read by the various programs.
I exported from D/S said figure. Was trying to paint with an image texture on it and "something wasn't going right" ... so I imported the same model into Hexagon and like yeah, right, ain't happening. It might be that the finished products from certain folk will work on the figure in the staging programs; but if said figure's mapping can't work well in what the rest of us have ... well, c'est la vie.
    Back to Genesis :-)

There any TNG styled bridged based on the TOS one? I am making a TNG story with a TOS ship and it needs a late 24th/early 25th century esque take on the TOS bridge.

    Thanks. :D

Found the Poser file of the Dart with the nacelles from my Crossbow, modified to better fit the scale of the Dart ;)

Ooh, I like that better than my arrangement. The warp pods DO look better pulled inward a bit, revealing the running lights. I had the "indented greeblies" of the nacelles facing outward so I didn't want the wings to protrude through them. But having the "coils" face upward works better.

I also experimented "squashing" the length of the main fuselage to roughly two-thirds (67%) . This was for the wingless configuration with the warp pods level with the bottom of the craft. It didn't look to bad. the hatches were still technically big enough to enter and exit, but a character would just have to be careful to to bash their shins. ;-)

    Sincerely,

    Bill

I am going to as this one again as I think it might have been missed in the recent activitie I have been playing with the idea of a small one or 2 man Klingon fighter craft , having been inspired by the ones from into the darkness I found a design I liked on the interweb and have tried not to copy it too closely . I was wondering what you guys think of it and if it could be added to the freebies list too

Intresting variation. Looks like it has more than a little Romulan in it to me.

My brother was complaining about the look of the texture I've been using on my TOS bed, so I made a new seamless texture.

Please feel free to use it to upholster your own TOS items.

Clouds and sky need to be a bit more orange, I'm thinking.

Skies can be reddish. [sunset or dawn]

Clouds could use a little defining, stronger white contrasting a darkness.

And shadows on the ground ;-)

At one point, I had the clouds entirely white still. And silly me, I forgot that the lights default to no shadows . . .

I also tried doing a version in Reality, but to LuxRender, "background" is a non-existent concept.

    Much Better! and shadows!

Okay update on a personal project. Wertz for Genesis (and don't quote me legal matters.)

"Of the two of us, only one of us has spent years working for JAG. I know what I can and can't do. Please avail yourself of the Orphan Works Act of 2008 as well as the Berne Convention.

    Nuff said there.

So here is our favourite TNG Captain in of all things...Genesis.

Had problems with the neck and body but I got that fixed. the continuing problem is the horns.
Augment Virus jokes aside, something about the Patrick Stewart morph when applied to Genesis makes these.

I will not lose this battle!

And how does he look on the Genesis 2 (Gen 2 Fem)? Same. but with added jubblies. (Hey I had too see!)

When the skin is applied it looks right. I thought the same thing when I downloaded the original file 4 years ago.

    My FOURTH try:

I used this on M4 a few months ago and I don't remember it doing that, but it was awhile back, so it might have.

Ah! The Amiga! I remember it with gratitude: it was my second computer and got me into computer graphics.

And, speaking of oldies, Happy 47th Birthday, Star Trek!

Possibly because sometimes people reading posts pick up on the idea and make things people want. It's been known to happen in this forum.

btw - while I didn't get any uniforms for A3 created per sa, I did get a tutorial done on how to do the legacy rigging in D/S4.6 and add morphs that work. So between the rigging package already uploaded for D/S3 and this one for D/S4.6; hopefully all who want to may have something of a stepping stone to learn how to as no one person can make "everything" that is still missing from the collection of goodies.

And I hope everybody's getting their cameras primed and "how to shoot pictures of the sky" down pat as this fall we're supposed to be seeing something very spectacular for about a week.
I don't profess to understand the logic of this: something called a "comet" is passing through a "dust cloud" far away from here ... and it is going to be 15 times brighter than the full moon is in our skies. So me mind thinks, okay ... that's either a laser ray coming through or one gigantic comet to be so bright. Anyway, could make for interesting backgrounds.

Also - from the various emails that arrive, sometime back archaeologists in the States [who were not to tell anybody anything of course, so we didn't hear it from them of course] were working on a dig containing alien GIANTS. 6 digits on feet and hands. Otherwise AFAIK, looking pretty much as we do.

    DIG OUT THE MIND BLEACH!

The first Genesis morph is complete. Not happy yet the cheeks are still soft (not those cheeks, they are still covered!) and the cleft in the chin didn't come out enough but it's getting there.

the outfit is Defiant for Genesis and the quickest through together for a texture I've ever made.

    The skin is http://www.daz3d.com/m4-elite-texture-sol

    Hey Bluto,

Put me down for a dozen squadrons of those babies! Does it come wiith flight simulators or instructors to teach my pilots how to fly them? Serioulsy I like the idea of small single and dual seat fighters in the Star Trek Universe. Not all fights can be handled with a star ship. I would really like to see some additional shots of this ship, maybe some close ups of the cockpit and around body.

shadowhawk , its a work in progress .type of thing . ptrope sorta is the cause for it . I refer to his dart and some of the other projects he has in one state of finish or an other .
I have yet to find a federation fighter I really like but who knows I might just have to make one . the next step id to give it some more plating on the main body of the ship and then I will be adding landing gear . after that I will be building a single and double cockpit
if all goes well I will try to figurize it and give it erc diald for the wings and cockpit hatch.
I will try to post a few more renders of it tomorrow after I do a bit more work on it .

HAHA! Even with all you say you have to do it sounds like your ship will be on the front lines before the Air Forces new F-35 JSF. Seriously though I have seen a federation fighter that would match up well with this but it is also being worked on. Paul posted a couple of images of it either at the begining of this thread or in the last half of the last one. Please don't rush any images on my account but I for one would enjoy seeing updates on this ship. I love my starships but there is something to be said about fighters. For so long all we have seen are ships with hundreds of crew members but there has to b3e other parts to their military arm of the federation as well and it is great that the fans are able to make that happen even if they will never be a part of the established storyline.

Dang it, I knew I had forgotten something!

Besides yesterday (September 8) being the anniversary of Star Trek's first broadcast, "The Man Trap", it was 40 years to the day, September 8, 1973, when Filmation's animated version of Stare Trek debuted.

So, who better to present a cake? Okay, Arex would also be appropriate, but I don't have a model of the Edoan. Plus, M'Ress is just easier on the eye. ;-P

    Sincerely,

    Bill

Wow! Thanks, Bill! M'Ress & strawberries--two of my favorites! :cheese:

Oh, but that reminds me--since TAS got so unexpectantly and unceremoniously canceled in '75, I've got only 2yrs to whip up a batch of C4, detcord, Xenomorph blood, and antimatter stable enough to be delivered to Hanna-Barbera for the upcoming 40th anniversary of the Smurfs....now where did I put that Tnuctip weapon....??? :coolhmm:
