Anyone try using dForce on stuff other than clothes?

Honestly, I was wondering if dForce can be used on the male genitalia figure that's included with all of the male pro bundles. I'm not sure if it would work but I've rendered video scenes where a man is running 'in the buff' and I didn't want to take the time to animate his stuff lol. Just curious if this is even possible with dForce.

I have not tried it on the gens yet but I used it to drape seaweed over a bomb in a render. It draped nicely. I also used it on vegetables and leaves on a turkey dinner I rendered in my gallery

Nice, I checked out the turkey dinner scene and the lettuce looks awesome. What else did you use it on?

I tried to use it on the gens and it became quickly apparent that I have no idea what I'm doing. I couldn't get it to keep its general shape and not collapse like cloth on itself. It was not a pretty sight lol.

Ouch. Nothing else benefitted from dforce in that image and I was having major computer problems so I stopped.

Well I haven't tried dForce on hair, breasts, buttocks, and so on but I've seen in the forum people have used dForce on such body parts but you have to weight paint them to restrict the deformation areas, LOL, without going into too many details you want to allow some areas much spring like deformation (to swing) and other areas much less deformation (to keep their shape) and so create a pendulum effect.

There is also a person in the freebie's section doing a script to animate pendulously buttocks and breasts but same concept could be used as a very fat person's belly too for example. I don't think they are using dForce though. And there is an old DAZ script at Renderosity for less than $20 that does the same for breast. Also, before you spend money mCasual, the guy in the Freebie section, has such DAZ scripts on their web site.

If you mean breastjig script, beware, it wont work on G8 for some reason. It works great on G3 though.

I used it to cut open my head:

If you add a dForce Modifier Weight Node you can pretty much use dForce on anything.

...I'm interested in doing Dali renders with it.

Were you able to drape it over the head of a character? I've been trying that for ages, with a sitting figure, it just drapes across the lap or somewhere else in the picture, and I was wondering how to if possible assign the primitive to the head (highest point) of a character.

Try turning the "Start Bones from Memorized Pose" to "Off" in the simulation settings. Make sure the "cloth" isn't too large and position it right above the head before the simulation. If you find that it slides too far off the head pull it a little bit farther in the opposite direction before starting the simulation. And turning the dynamic strength down to around 98 to 95 can help keep it on the head as well.

You did an excellent job with that.

Really it's super easy - but thank you! :D DForce is AWESOME! laugh

...I have to wait until I get the memory and OS upgrade installed (waiting on a second computer to arrive so I can get online in case I have to troubleshoot stuff).

I didn't use bones at all but I did have to up friction on it to 0.7 or so and make a few start & stops before I got the head cloth positioned correctly and that it didn't slide off the head from it's weight too (because of the weight of the head dress).

Frustrating thing was the hair always seems to have invisible geometry that cause odd bumps under the head cloth that just don't fly as realistic.

I used a DAZ Studio primitive size 20 (size 40 works too) and subdivided 2.  Only figure SubD with no rigging.

I attach jpg with the dForce parameters I changed.

...that's what happens when you inflate an unflatable pony.

So, I purchased an environment from TurboSquid that was originally built in 3DS Max. I received converted files with the set, but the base terrain was constructed in a, shall we say, less than ideal way for conversion. Imported into DAZ it was ugly, bumpy, and actually tore in multple places. (And I tried many different technique to minimize the problems to little effect)

Then it hit me - vacuuforming!

Going old-school, I created a high-density plan mesh and let it drape down over the terrain basically re-topologizing the terrain piece. Yea, it looks a little table-clothy in places, but I should be able to obscure those areas realitively easily.

    Fingers crossed.

Just to say that the BreastJig script has been updated and tested with G8 and 4.11. I was assured of such by someone who has purchesed the script so I went ahead and bought it myself.
