MM had bigger discounts for new content: you got 40% off for 1 and 50% off for 2+ (and the additionnal bonus for owning a given item), while in this today's promo it's standard 30% off for 1 or 2 and 44% off for 3+.
Granted, it was nothing like the insane discounts we had during the first editions of MM, but those days are long gone...
I'm expecting there may be a new character tomorrow or at least this week. I wonder what we will get and what sort of deal there will be. Personally I'd like to see Mei Lin 8.
The newest hair product lists three Genesis 8 Females: Edie, Penny, and The Girl.
And now the not so 'March Madness' is now officially over. There were a couple of moments, but yeah, gotta luv the 'new normal' I guess.
I did put the '$10 off featured creatures' to use a few times though. The new items weren't too expensive, so I did multiple passes over the weekend. As others reported, there were some 'discounts not applying' issues but I seemed to avoid those.

I miss the 'show all featured artists together' button... much more convenient than having to click on each artist gallery individually during a sale. Say, if you are just doing a quick wishlist check... That button was very nice to have available!
The buy in for today's sale is a bit steep. The bundle deal has some nice savings built in, but then of course it only counts as one item... Also, three expensive tactical new releases to get an older character for free... yeah a bit steep.
I guess we were spoiled last year.
That link was created based on what elements the sale page usually has. If Daz goes back to the old naming of page elements, then the addon will automatically put that link back. If Daz consistently keeps using a new naming system, then eventually we'll update the addon to use this new naming system. If they keep changing the format of the sales page, then... but why would they do that? :)
Oh so that was your sorcery that created that button? (I.E. the Daz Deals plugin?). Thanks very much for that. I very much enjoyed having that button on the March Madness sales pages...
Daz should just do that on their pages by default, and I thought it was their button, didn't realize it was a Daz Deals thing. Daz sales team take note! You should have the 'view all featured artists together button' on each sales page. It saves time and bandwidth, and may generate more sales as people won't bail after browsing only a few of the artists...
+1,000,000....
Done with new females and if forced to buy female clothes with male, I pass. Should be able to buy only one or the other with a bundle option for those who want it.
Yep, it was the addon. Here's the latest changelog: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/3443996/#Comment_3443996
Well, if you found them, there were a couple of nice Easter Eggs (aka unadvertised specials) like heavily discounted store credit and PC+ membership toward the end of the sale.
Well, MM is over and my DAZ diet starts now ;-) Zero'd my wishlist to start with. Did not get much from the old wishlist during MM though as the 55% max discount was even lower than regular flash sale level and motivated more to buy new releases than to get those older G3-stuff from the wislist. Hope for better offers in the future.
Still have > $100 in store credit but will try to hold on to that as long as possible. Or at least until Altern8, Zev0's Body Mixer, NGS3 or a new Pro Bundle will eat it up for good.
You and Overdrawn need an award for the amazing Daz Deals plug-in. At the very least Daz needs to give you guys massive gift cards as a thank you for helping their customers navigate their shop easier. Many of the plug-in's features really need to be added by DAZ to their website (so that people who don't have the plug-in can enjoy them as well). Like the "list all these artists together" is a no-brainer and I'm sure have helped people spend more. I know before you added that feature I would rarely go through every single artist's catalog because it was just too time consuming. Being able to see all the available sales items listed together without having to navigate to a ton of different PA's stores has been a massive help and really should be a part of the Daz store/sales pages every time, even for those without the plug in.
+! (and then some!)
I especially like having the discount percentage showing up in the cart. Not only does this feature make it blatantly obvious when discounts aren't applying, but it also encourages me to put more items in the cart when I see I'm getting 68%, 75%, 95% discounts on sale items—very good from Daz's POV, I would think I tend to buy more when my discounts are high.
I agree wholeheartedly with both.
@Ati I always try to buy by following the links in the ATI emails - promos, best Daz Prices etc to hopefully give ATI and Overdrawn a small cut. If I click the ATI promo link, and from that promo page, I open and buy individual items, do you get the reward? I have no way to tell whether it works or not.
Yes, indeed.A reward from DAZ is not unprecedented and would be well deserved. As I recall Wilbear (now OSO) received a substantial reward for his suggestion to incorporate a time limit on DAZ encrypted items.
I would hope and wish that @Novica has received some reward from Daz, if not a regular salary for the incredible volume of high quality work and effort that she has contributed. As a newcomer, I am very appreciative of her threads, and her many review renders msut have sold many Daz products. This is not to denigrate the contributions of many other regular and frequent posters, who I will not even try to start listing, or I will dig a bigger hole for my likely serious omissions!
@etamin Nope, nada. Been doing it for five years too. My pleasure to help though. :) And thanks for the shoutout. I know what you mean about trying to list people, everyone who pitches in on my thread (in Art Studio) to cover the products is really the heart and soul of the showcasing.
Well, it is not just you, but all the contributors to your threads, but you are the Captain - no, General
I have been learning a lot from all of you on these threads, and , while I don't comment often, I really appreciate the friendly and incredibly helpful atmosphere on the Daz forums (fora?) in general - there is just so much to learn, that it is difficult to retain it all. Then I am heartened when I read one of the multi-thousand post members write something like "Oh I had forgotten all about...'
Ati and Overdrawn use affiliate links in all the emails. It's been mentioned in the app thread (very transparent.)
Don't they work only for the first purchase from a customer?
I think it was a weird marketing strategy to have the discounts mostly maxed at 55% for PA items. If any of those items go on sale for more than that within 30 days, CS will get a lot of refund tickets for the difference. I already had to go through a whole hassle because during the sale I bought a bunch of things that went on a bigger discount sometimes just a day after purchase. It took me several hours to get everything together with order numbers and items listed, screenshots, etc... to send to CS and it took them a week to figure it out and get it all sorted. In the end they made it right, but there was a lot of confusion, math to figure out, and back and forth along the way.
I know PAs put in a lot of hard work, but some of us don't have a "real" job outside of freelance art and are struggling ourselves. And I have a feeling the PAs who put their items on flash sale at higher discounts often make more money than those who don't. I'm not sure who decides that, Daz or the PAs... I spoke to one PA who often has huge sales, I've purchased a bunch of their content sometimes for as low as $3.00-$5.00 and stocked up, and they said they were doing great financially! And when prices go super low, like that or even lower, I'll fork out over more than a hundred dollars easily for one cart, but I rarely buy anything over about $8.00 unless it triggers a big discount for something else or a bundle or I REALLY want it. I think the most I ever spent for one cart, over $200, was during RDNA/PC/V4 sales when things were sometimes under a dollar! I do end up buying a lot, just careful about juggling the cart for the best deal and if the numbers don't work for me, over-priced items are the first to get culled...
We do get the regular affiliate commissions from purchases based on the clicks from our emails. If you buy anything after clicking on the email links, then it should count. We don't see whose purchases are included, that would be personal information that is not shared with us. The addon itself does not contain any affiliate links, so anyone not comfortable with such links can still fully use it--even the email notifications, they just don't click on the links, that's all. Of course, it's best to click on them ;) but I always want to be fully transparent that it can be used without it.
Nice percentages today, but nothing in the new items I really want to buy ... hmmmm...
First customers would give a higher commission, but I don't believe we've ever received a first-customer commission.
Really? That means that two or more people can share affiliate links with each other and save 10% on everything.
The cookies for Daz are good for 20 days, so even if someone goes straight to daz after that (if they've clicked a link at least once) you get a commision.
Affiliate marketing is tough, I think this app idea is nothing short of brilliant.
Thanks for clarifying. I just wanted to make sure that you are getting the commission you richly deserve for this indispensible app.
Yeah, I don't think I bought anything from any PAs at all this March Madness. I didn't even look.
WHY does it have to be i13 in the 70% off fastgrab?!! My cryptonite...aahhhhh.... so weaaaak... must buuuy....
