Wet spot on clothing tricks?

DDCreateDDCreate Posts: 1,384

I know some clothing items offer wet maps (swimsuits I think mostly) but I wondered if anyone had any tricks or ideas for making a wet spot on clothing. Maybe using LIE? Spilled coffee, wine, mustard ect...just your typical clumsy "oops" stuff. Obviously it's not something that will make or break a render, I just like adding that human element sometimes. Hope to hear some ideas! :)

Look for info on using a geoshell with opacity cutout. You can make any area of a figure, large or small, more specular this way.

  • I would use LIE to add a darker patch to the diffuse, then add Top Coat and mask with the same shape to make the patch glossier if it's freshly wet.

And/or add a bump map if its a "glop" of something.
