Yes, Divamakeup, it looks that way, and now I'm wondering how extensive this problem is. I have just tried adding thd G2 MFD to the morphed G3F character I posted about, and it autofits without distortion (so far). I may try other MFD fits when I have more time. If I find more problems/information I'll post it here.

EDIT: Genesis MFD fits okay (Using "Wear them all" clones) but distortion of the lower skirt with V4 and V3 MFD's, while Steph 3 MFD does not fit at all, despite using "Wear them all" clones - This is for the MORPHED G3F. So the hip problems seem only to affect G8 and G3 MFD's.

Using auto-fit to put the G2F MFD on G3F is not the same thing. One of the Daz artists took the mesh and did a refit, which includes many things, like rigging, and weight mapping, and something with JCMs, etc. (If I knew how to do all that, I'd be a PA instead of just a user, lol.) There are always issues with autofit. Among them, you lose a lot of the product's morphs, if those morphs move bones that are lost in the auto-fit process. That's why the base products of the more popular clothing get refits to the new generations.

Yes indeed, making a refit that works worse than the autofit was a feat.

This is looking like a quick G8 port. Even the MFD Bundle 2 has problems. I'm guessing the directory structure in some of the files are still using the previous generation's.

    The correct Genesis 8 directory should be data\Daz Original\Medieval Cloaks Genesis 8 Female\MedievalRobe\UV Sets\Daz Original\Base

I get similar error messages to that if I'm putting a texture for the G2 MFD onto say, the G3MFD, if I have NOT installed the G2 MFD.

Absolutely. I agree. I know little about fixing this, so I was providing what information I had, because, when faced with a problem, I prefer too much information to not enough. You never know when some little bit of data triggers a new line of thinking.

Okay. I misunderstood what you meant.

    No update yet?

Smart content updates often lag behind dim updates, and I haven't seen it come up yet, so was just checking.

  • y3kmany3kman Posts: 825

No update yet. I haven't even made a single render with the MFD 1, MFD 2, and Princess of Darkness 2 because of this fitting issue.

I guess I learned my lesson to just stick with non-PC expensive items. sad

No the updates still in the works, some factors are out of our control.. but we're on it.

I snagged all of these up as soon as I saw them, even though I knew they had problems, because I've been around long enough to know that the problems will be fixed as soon as they possibly can be.  And I would rather wait on the fix than wait for it to go on sale again...

You're a smart cookie! :D I probably shouldn't have waited. Now I will have to pay the higher price for waiting. lol It's still an amazing price though. :)

Maybe there will be a PC+ Anniversary catchup and they could be back on sale.

Oh that would be great! :D I've been a little disappointed in the PC+ sale this year, so I haven't bought much, but a catchup sale would probably get me to part with a bit more money. lol

Hi, Richard. There are problems still present with the MFD and other products related to it. I used the small BJ Faye figure as a test.

    1. OSkirt EXP1 still doesn't fit properly.

    2. Sleeves EXP2 still has a minor fitting issue.

    3. The Princess of Darkness 2 materials for the Collar3EXP1 and OSkirtXP1 do not get applied. If I remember correctly, these two materials/textures were working before the MFD update.

I'll second that. The overskirt doesn't really fit at all even on a full-sized figure. It's way too big and off center. And Pink. The sleeves are a bit better but don't really look attached to the dress.

And by the way: Would it have killed you guys at Daz to make a wearble for PoD2 so it isn't necessary to flip back and forth between 3 different product folders? Took me half an hour to load it versus one second to double-click a wearable preset!

Just want to check that this is obviously the update, not the original file being reinstalled somehow?

  • jakibluejakiblue Posts: 7,281

I just installed the update. While the MFD seems to fit Olympia 8 without any pokethru now, is the overskirt meant to do this? Huge pokethru at back and thigh, and it gapes at the waist. I looked for a morph called "fit dress" or something like that, but there's nothing of that ilk.

I checked the issues I have with the MFD and POD2 after I installed the updates(?) using DIM. The BJ Faye and Young Lyra product also had an update today.

I already sent a ticket regarding this overskirt and material problem.

  • I think there is more to this than meets the eye.. as the original version of the product had issues which were non-existant on the PA's machine.   I've left a note for Jen, so we'll try again to get to the bottom of what's going on.

Setting the overskirt to collide with the MFD should work. You'll still get a minor poke near her butt but that is easily fixed by increasing the smoothing and/or colision iterations a little bit.

Hey, at least the overskirt looks fine with Olympia 8. It still has issues with small bodies like Moxie and the extra small ones like Faye and Young Lyra.

    Hi all
We are still working on fits for the overskirt and sleeves, And will get those done asap.

Princess of darkness fix will be going up soon. It was a matter of fixing the material names.

Will let you know when the overskirt and sleeves are fixed, (yes the whole set is being looked at and will be fixed completely before the next update) We are also checking the Moxie, Faye and Young Lyra morphs but please understand that the mfd is meant to support the DAZ original morphs (now Victoria 8, Olympia 8 and so on current to today) so there may be adjustments needed for other specialized morphs like those.

Yes I have the updated MFD for sure. Haven't seen an update for PofD texture yet.

Yeah it's the updated version. I never even loaded the MFD before the update. PofD2 is being worked on apparently but not yet updated.

And yes please a wearable preset for PofD2 would be great. Thanks.
