Default smoothing itierations?

Is there a default setting for smoothing iterations?

Mine seems to be set on 20 and I have to change it every time I use it, usually to about 5. I'd like it to stay at 5 though, not 20.

    I believe it varies by item because it is contained inside the dsf/duf file isn't it?

    I think 5 is the default for a newly created smoothing modifier, but the creator could set it to a higher value and use memorise to make that the default.

    If I create a new modifier it is always set to 20.

    Me too but later this evening I will try Richard's suggestion to see if it works.

    In DS 4.5 the default value is lowered to 2. It was worked on obviously to not be that dependent from the collision detection.

    2 makes sense as I rarely need to go above 2, thx Jepe.
