Render Path

My renders are no longer presenting me with the option to choose a path to deposit the render to.  (No render window appears, the render process just starts.)

And I cannot locate a path selection in render settings.

How do I change the path and (if I wish to) set the render viewport to appear again, when renders are made?

Is there any reason that I am not being offered the option to select a path?

Once, yesterday, a path option pop-up appeared, but it never reappeared.

So, I've been rendering to one file name, copying and pasting the render somewhere else, then rendering over the last render, using the same path.

I used to be able to choose a path.   That, was easier.

I changed my workspace layout, and noticed why I wasn't locating the target path on the editor.

That solved the issue.
