don't know but have been thinking about something else may or may not be related and if is may have an idea of the culpret. Ok so I've had some problems with other things my antivirus has an add on that allows you to save logins and pass words I have this on four computers, 1 laptop has vista, 1 laptop has w10, one desktop has w10 and this one my really expensive computer with two gtx 1080's is w10PRO now on the other computers you can login open you password vault via the antivirus program and or via your search engines such as google which can do no problem but on this one no I can not log in via my antivirus or via google but able to luckily acces via microsoft edge after I installed one of their plugins. Next up there was an update for my ipod which screwed it up but was able to fix it via one of my other computers. And other things problems like updates for my 1080's so it got me thinking could it be Windows 10 Pro doing something to dim and connect
looking in dim again think I did it again looks like 3 versions of 64 studio somehow
Yeah, all your programs should operate pretty much the same accross all of those operating systems,as long as they have been updated and are compatible with them. IF there's something wrong with your windows install that can cause all sorts of wierd issues. And having 3 installations of Studio is definitely not optimal, unless it's different versions you intentionally installed (old version before ecrypted scripts, beta, and current version for example)
I tried altering connect files location since saw was two and lost everything so gonna start over again
maybe start with standalone figs pas have made that way don't have to download install heaps of files just to make sure got setup right
dim has been updated and I noticed something not sure how long been there but in the settings-downloads section where you can click/unclick what programs apps and such you want to download content for there are two boxes you can check for connect - connect available and connect installed. Maybe unchecking these will disable connect for those of you who don't want it

No, if they are both unchecked you won't see any content available through Connect in DIM. If Connect Installed is unchecked you won't see content installed via Connect in DIM (saving duplication) but you will, with Connect Available checked, see content that could be isntalled through Connect but isn't.
so reinstalled took few attempts false starts but got the essentials packs installed still didn't wanna do exactly where I wanted connect but it is in one section as is my daz library stuff so far and has made duplicate folders still got those arrows on the main icons but seem to access contents though funny thing gen3 esssentials was missing g3f so to get her to show up still had to do the right click install via connect to access her
About the time that this thread appeared, DIM began to give me the same issues the OP reported: DIM downloaded & installed items, but they did not appear in the Products tab. I ignored this thread because of the title. After reading it, I see that this is pertinent to me, and that I am not the only one having this problem.
LONG STORY SHORT: In DIM on the Ready to Download tab, I had the Install After Download box ticked [checked] (at the bottom of the window) so that with one click I could install all my new items. I unticked it and downloaded the items in one step, and then I tested installing items a few at a time. I then checked each to make sure it had indeed installed properly and would load. Problem solved. But I don't trust it; so, I'm going to have to piecemeal install and double check 100 items.
LONG STORY (written before the solution was revealed): This is a recent issue. I have not had this problem before. All of my content (other than plug-ins) is on an external drive and has been for the past two years. It is not a directory setup issue or faux pas on my side because one day my downloads installed as usual, and the next day (and subsequently since then) they did not. I have almost 11,000 items installed, so I thought that might be the issue.
DIM had an update last week, and I assumed that was the fix for my problem. But after installing the DIM update, I discovered that, although the items now appeared in the Products tab---when I would click on a newly "installed" item a prompt appeared stating: "File does not exist." Strangely, about 20% of the items install correctly, but there is no discernible pattern or type that is successful. I have uninstalled items, deleted downloads, quit and restart DS, disconnected and reconnected to the Internet, etc. But nothing has changed.
yeah I have had that too this sometimes worked in studio when missing parts of content if you right click an item and select update metadata it finds the missing files of course after that you gotta click install again via connect
so was looking in my daz library folder Runtime/Daz/Characters to check if what I reinstalled was all there and locations as I also have headshop and facemaker pro so need to know locations of bases and I found textures for milman/woman, kids 4, g2 and g8 you textures for the eyes and various parts of the body in the characters section but not any others
I looked everywhere found folders for all the bases in the people section (that not in runtime folder) but the texture folders in each were pics of the icons
so looked in connect and found folders that contained textures couldn't see g3f saw g3m which was hair and folders wit pas names? so loaded studio went to surfaces after loading fig and browse to location which took me to connect and then I noticed something G3F is not classified as Genesis 3 Female she is in a folder called 'raiya' and in that folder are folders for 'eddie" which guess is code name for g3m and "jeane" went back to my daz library/Runtime/Textures and found her and him in the Raiya folder so I've also accidently found out who created the base Genesis 3 figures as Raiya is a PA here
could any of these updates be the reason for the connect arrows on the product icons in studio and are some products being split up between dim and connect? As I mentioned when I installed the starter essentals via dim g3f didn't show up in studio and had to reinstall via connect to get her to appear
Raiya created the textures, not (as far as I know) the figures. You do seem to be confusing textures (image files that are wrapped around the mdoel) and material presets/poses (files that appear in the content panes, and which have the actual settings file and a thumbnail for display in the content pane).
soooooo was going fine slowly reinstalling everything going in the right places and showing up in 4.9 beta and public build funny thing downloaded 4.10 and not everthing showed up and the newest download update completely removed 4.9 and lost few things again including various shaping morphs mostly g8 some g3 but all the g8 ones I'd installed including the base daz g8 morphs and the daz head body morph packs bought and zevO looked in dim says installed looked in connect looks like gotta redownload install via that again so is connect going to do this eery time new version of studio? making us reinstall again and again
ok went back into file locations andpointed to right locations got what was installed reappearing again locations it had were the old wrong ones not the ones I'd fixed last time
Installing the 4.10 version over 4.9 certainly shouldn't do anything to installed content - they are separated, even for the Starter Essentials - so I have no idea why this is happening to you.

and looks like most are no longer connect only and I know I did get a few connect only items but the only ones listed that are still connect only and aren't many of them are one I don't have but few got hanging my cart thinking of getting didn't take notice that they were connect only but from the list maybe connect only products are being replaced and giving us a choice how we want to download install
I'm cursed probably - the links I viewed studio was pointed to were the ones I had before my last correction in 4.9 but think I've fixed again
