How to transfer your Facegen characters to V8

I like to mix in my Facegen characters with morph packs to get my own characters. Is anyone having good results transferring the finished Facegen character- morphs plus skin to V8?

If possible, would you post a screenshot of what you are ticking off when saving??

  • NP if you are using your FG characters on G3F.  All you have to do is:

Save your Material Preset from your G3 character.  It should work fine on G8.

Use Redz technique for copying G3F morphs to G8F.  It's really easy since he's supplied the tools / base pose.

I've done this with several of my FG characters.  All worked just fine.

  • BTW...remember to give your exported G8 mesh an appropriate label...i.e. "Jamie for G8F."  I made sure to put all the exported G8F meshes in a single folder, so there would be no confusion as to which generation they belonged to.

Also, you can import a whole folder full of morphs at one time.  Just make sure to select the appropriate category for each in Morph Loader Pro.  Usually, I do 3 exports for my meshes for each character: "Jamie Head for G8F," "Jamie Body for G8F," "Jamie Full for G8F."  That way I can still mix and match head and body morphs or just do a full character slider.  It's more effort...but, not much for the extra versatility.  Plus, I don't need as many bodies as I do heads.  So, I might want to reuse a specific body type that I've already created without including the head.  Once you've created a body type that you like for a height/weight/age group, you can reuse it with slight measurement tweaks via Figure Metrics to create an individual character body.

If you don't mind going to all this effort, you'll end up with a whole set of head and body morphs.

    Good luck!
