    some more V6

so far ever thing for Genesis and V5 seems to work fine on her

What about textures? It doesn't look to me as though a V4 texture would work on V6, unless the standard UV set for the Genesis 2 female is V4's.

Ah, I read the blurb for V4 for Genesis 2 and it looks as though that pack has the V4 UV's, BUT, any texture presets (which I would take to mean the Elite sets) have to be saved as .DUF's before you can apply them, sounds like a hassle to me.

...yeah, as if we already don't have enough to smack our brains against the wall with this considering SSS, UE, US, cloning, open_subD, geometry shells, etc...

Daz used to be so simple, it's now beginning to feel like the old Blender.

    Possibly,

My guess there would be that you'd load V5 apply a V4 texture and add that to the Shader Presets menu.

Yeah, a wee bit of a pain, but you only need to save each texture once (and each makeup option etc)

Absolutely, so it's not that bad really. Here's hoping that they come up with textures for V6 that are so good we don't feel the need to go back to V4 ones.

...don't think that will work with YT5 thought which I use extensively and employ the V4 UVs.

I don't think I've ever used V5 by herself yet. I prefer to use her in small doses along with Steph4 (via GenX), Steph5, or AIko5 for older female characters. I just don't like Vicky's proportions out of the box (no matter what generation) as she too much the "ideal supermodel". The only character which V4 worked for was Meggan Grande, but even then I used a bit of Steph4 to give her a more lean athletic physique as she was a champion swimmer in her younger days while being fairly imposing at 6'1"

I don't have YT5 so I wouldn't know. It's possible that they may do a new Gen X so we can do what we did before, we'll see...

...well I'm not putting the visual development of my story on hold for another year or two until they release YT6 (if they even do).

This is flippin' ridiculous. How are we ever to keep any sense of visual continuity when they keep outdating our tools every couple years?

That's just the way the market is these days. Do what you can with what you can and if you like it, stick with it. Nobody is forcing you to update.

Hopefully 3D figures will look as good one day.

Not sure since I am not familiar with Antonia, Anyhoo having some fun with toon characters rendered in seconds with UE 3DL. D/A is pretty anal when ti comes to porn unlike Flickr's mature filters actually mean what they say. I used to just put a note to PM me for a link but I decided to have some fun with it..

I had a little play with V6 and, shock, horror, I made a test render!!

I'm flying blind with the shaders and will wait till Male M3dia does a character for her as his presets always seem to make the best of everything. I also tried out one of the Lantios Core lights presets.

Whatever, I'll do more when I feel able to get back into 3D properly

Another test, this time with different settings. I'm not sure I like this subsurface shader as much as I do the HSS or UberSurface.

Just curious more than anything, I just wanted to get V6 while she was still discounted, and I had a coupon to use. I've still loads to do before I get back into 3D full time.

I think your collages are really the way for you to go they look brilliant!

Nothing beats having real ppl but you are limited to one shots as oppose to long winded stories Its something to do while the renders bake...

Try 3D.SK, they have poses that you could nick the heads from. Could give you a bit more scope.

Its cool I enjoy my rendering as well I now find myself surfing explicit sites for some good quality pics thats what the notebook is good for, I just go to a limited amount of trusted sites on the beast!

well its not a Lux render,
this is just messing around with the new Base SS shader in DAZ 4.6

This is a very quick and simple figure study, but to me looks pretty realistic.

The figure is GND4 Athletic, by Blackhearted.
I added the Dimension Theory Interjection shader
Used the Luxus Sun light, didnt even have to adjust it
and rendered in LuxRender vi Luxux plugin.

Very little twiddling to get it done. Hardest part was getting the clothing to fit as the GND4 body is not included in adjustment morphs in the Beach wear clothing set.

Set DOF in the DAZ Camera

I let it render for a few hours and I think it came out pretty good. I see a few areas for improvement but what do you think as it pertains to the thread topic? Realistic?

    Looks good,

How did you get one with the SS shader and how did you set it up?
