Just a quick question, since you mention Sony Vegas Movie studio. How many audio channels can you set up in that application?
According to Sony's site, Movie Studio 12 (the current version) will allow up to 20 (stereo) audio tracks. Version 11 (the one I use) will do 10. In case you're wondering, v12 will do 20 video tracks as well. Unless you're making a major motion picture, 20/20 is pretty comprehensive - heck, 10/10 is more than most people are likely to use.
In my experience, for most non-professional work (and possibly a lot of pro situations), Movie Studio can handle most tasks. And at $50-$100 (depending on your version), it's a pretty good deal - SUPER easy to use, too.
