I don't think the thumbnail had time to load before it went in the cart!

Do please say there will be an interior of some sort to follow!

Thank you Stonemason for another beautiful and versatile set. This one went into the cart immediately and I can't wait to get home from work so that I can start using it.

Thanks, Stefan. The promos for this are genuine works of art.  I love the lighting and shadows.

Next week's budget is spent already.  I'm going to have a play with this tomorrow.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

  • Your wonderful Streets of the Wild West has "1 General OBJ Installer" which is great because I use Poser. Does this model?

According to the readme it does, although it isn't shown on the store page.

    We will send a query.

I was going to request Streets of Jerusalem, but this will do nicely! Bravo!

That's a great idea too - I'd buy both. (A Jerusalem set might go with a hilly environment) - not that I think SM is short on projects laugh

I bought this yesterday and I'm about to install it.  The manual download comes with two zip files: DAZ studio and wavefront object (.OBJ).

    Cheers,

    Alex.

You don't need the obj. file for standart DS use (Iray or 3delight) thats for the carrara and co user out there to make it available for use for them as well

  • LinwellyLinwelly Posts: 6,070

@Stonemason, I think the metadata got messed up at some point, the Lights that are listed in the iray lights (exterior) are an UE and a Distant light with photometrics off, so i belive those are meant for use in 3delight.

Other that that, thanks a lot for this beautiful large set, this is just like walking through the medina and taking photos, its amazing, you outdid yourself!

I ended up bribing my mother with promise of making a new picture for her facebook profile with this set, to get her to buy it for me since my own money doesn't come until end up month *grins shamelessly* it's an Amazing set and I'm totally in love with it. Only got far too many ideas compared to time to make them lol. Here's the first one I made, my lovely comptuer hate me though as with the added figures and such, it took nearly 12 hours before it had rendered to 20%, and by that time I wasn't willing to wait any longer :)

Cats in the middle of war

A soldier found a cat and her kitten in amidst the rubble in a nearly destroyed building, in the middle of a war torned city. He took them back to base and soon the two were given the care and love they had lacked before.

@Carola O  "it took nearly 12 hours before it had rendered to 20%, and by that time I wasn't willing to wait any longer :) "

If that is the limit of the scene you wanted, you can hide everything outside of the view and drastically (in this case) speed up the render. I would keep only the elements that impact light and shadow on this direct scene. You can always save different scene files if you want more than one render with a given set.

@fastbike   I had removed all that was possible to remove, leaving only what is visible in the actual scene :) I usually do that since my Nvidia card and my computer aren't the best out there, also getting used to long renders which is why I tend to let them render over night when I sleep *laughs* somehow I have more patience when I am sleeping ;P

I love this set.  I wish I could find a way to use it.  Short of rewriting my script, I don't know how I could justify it. But it sure is beautiful.

this awesome model will allow me to do some renders that I have been dreaming of for a long time.

now  to complete the historical series .... if we could only get a model of kyoto streets, the old historical part ... I'd be in rapture

You could just do renders for your own satisfaction and personal use with this one if it doesn't fit what you are writing.

What clothes are you using there?

Here's a quickie I threw together - using one of the render-preset sun-sky settings but a new camera - loving this set :)

Sugatak has a series of Edo period structures and scenes. Some of them might still be over on Rendo, though.

Thanks a lot and I return the compliment, I was thinking the bazar stuff would work nicely .

The clothes on the girls are on the right the peasant dress for g2f https://www.daz3d.com/peasant-dress-for-genesis-2-females only the dress with a striped cloth shader and the turban scarf https://www.daz3d.com/x-fashion-turban-scarf-for-genesis-3-female-s

and on the left the african head wear https://www.daz3d.com/african-headwear-for-genesis-3-female-s with the dress part from the royal elf for genesis https://www.daz3d.com/royal-elf-for-genesis

( I used the wear them all for fitting)

Different question, when I use the camera setting 01 in Iray I get only black, anybody else with that problem?

  • StonemasonStonemason Posts: 1,259

looks like it's sitting behind the wall..move the camera forward just a little bit and you should see everything.

    will get this fixed asap

  • Oso3DOso3D Posts: 15,115

Is there something special about the lighting or camera? Because wow, the environment just looks amazing (broke down and picked it up and did a quick preview, but I think it hung)

  • StonemasonStonemason Posts: 1,259

not really, the cameras and render/lighting are just included to match the promo images, with Iray there's no postwork needed so it's easier now to include those settings,so users can achieve the exact same image you see in the promos.

    Cheers

    Stefan

Ugh. And I'm struggling to render this thing without locking my computer up.

I've deleted half the objects and reduced textures by 50%...
