Install Manager screwed up, now I can't get into DS

To make a long story short: for reasons I mentioned in this thread: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/175751/problems-with-last-update-of-daz-studio#latest I'm now unable to fire up DS.

DIM shows it installed, but when I click on the shortcut I get the standard intro screen with a message on the bottom that says "Connecting to CMS". Then nothing happens, no matter how long I wait.

I don't know of a way to bypass Content Management Services, and I assume there isn't one. I would even be willing to try a Windows uninstall/reinstall if DS showed up on the Control Panel list. DIM shows up, but not DS, and I'm reluctant to uninstall DIM in the hope of a cure (worried I'll scrambe its tiny brain even further).

Suggestions/solutions would be deeply, profoundly appreciated...especially if they work.  I've been tearing my hair out all morning over this.
