The way the muscles flex and move, coupled with the advancement of facial expressions, make Gen 8 an obvious step above. To say there's "nothing new" makes me think you either haven't spent much time with the new figure or you haven't read what's actually been done. This doesn't even consider teeth, fingernails/toenails, and ears. All with clear advancements to what was there before (nails, especially).

Don't read marketing BS, read what's inside .DSFs

Muscles are ordinary JCMs, they're even not HD morphs. You can have much better system with G3F and her HD muscles from xenic101. Better bending in shoulder area is done via JCMs too and could absolutely be ported back to G3F with the same result as two meshes are identical in this area. Bending in knee and hip area is not that great so we'll see zev0 products for them again :)  Facial expressions are better because they ARE HD morphs so they add those wrinkles and stuff but actually it's a step backward because one of the main innovations in G3 were those facial bones introduced to eliminate our dependency of expression morphs :)

Teeth, nails, eyes, eyelashes could be done using geograft addons for those who really do need those changes. Just like 'anatomical elements' are done now. In my case these extra polys will be eaten by Decimator :)

For me Genesis 3 was instant buy, but this generation will be skipped.

Exactly, I don't see anything I don't already have with G3F and supporting products I've already bought. With Genesis 3 the main thing for me was how the model bends and when I compared it to G2F it was significantly better. When comparing G3 to G8 side by side I don't see a significant benefit. The skin shader are worse than what I already have which is a mix of a bought product and my own settings. I already have HD expressions, muscles, teeth morphs, ear, toe morphs, bend morph products for G3 in addition to Zevos morphs. I have backwards compatability with the clones that go further back than genesis 1 that I bought and improved clothes transfers with the clothes SY Ultra Templates rigs and I have a collection of morphs transfered with Genx from Genesis 1 and 2. Going to G8 would be going backwards especially now that Genx equivalent for G8 is not happening for the foreseeable future which means no ability to use morphs from Genesis 1-3 which I have many. Some morphs which probably won't be reproduced again like Freak 5 or the toon morphs from 3d universe.

Like I said before I will probably get any non-human monster/alien/other figures since they are pretty much stand alone figures and previous generation morphs won't really do much for a werewolf for example. For human characters I will stick to Genesis 3 since it is not worth it to buy all the addon products all over again.

I'm not sure why people are freaking out about it being so "soon". Did they do this to G2 and G3 releases as well? The figure releases are on a 2 year release schedule. G2 came out two years after G1, G3 came out two years after G2, and now G8 has come out two years after G3. If they stick with the same schedule as they have the past few figure releases, we'll be seeing G9 in June 2019.

Not looking forward to two years from now seeing AGAIN so many complaining posts about it being "too soon". Just get over it. Get on board with the new figure or pass it up. No one is forcing you to keep up with each figure line release.

Me neither. And, yes, they did. Genesis' "reign" lasted 603 days (October 25th 2011 to June 19th 2013), and people cried. Genesis 2's era lasted 732 days (June 20th 2013 to June 22nd 2015), and people cried. Genesis 3's "reign" lasted 722 days (June 23rd 2015 to June 14th 2017), and... well, same old. What they didn't seem to notice, there are still lots of Genesis and Genesis 2 products in the store, even the long time dethroned Victoria 3 is still around, and DAZ regularly gives bundles containing M4/V4 away for free. ["... too old!..." cheeky]

I'd guess even if Genesis 9 would be released in June 2020, there still would be lots of crying. wink "Too soon... too late... too ugly... too cute..." devil

Does in the US DAZ 3D delegates stand in every customer's home behind your back, pointing a big gun on your head urging you to push that buy button...? smiley

I think one of the reasons people think "it's too soon" may be the delay between Victoria 7 and Michael 7.  I remember that delay being very very long; like almost a year.  So naturally it might feel to some that the Gen 3 technology (which is composed of female AND male figures) hasn't had a chance to mature because it seems like Michael came along just about 5 minutes ago.

Actually, Michael 7 (and 6) came along about a month earlier Michael 5 did in comparison... only about 5 months after their respective Victorias, as compared to six for Michael 5.

Still, that means that Michael has only been around for 25% of the Genesis 3 Era up to now.  I think it DOES contribute, however subconsciously, to people's feelings that the release cycle was quick.

DAZ can relieve that by releasing Michael 8 next week.  Hey, it could happen!

I'm freaking out about it being so soon because there's a lot of content I want to see that hasn't come out yet for Genesis 3 (heck, some of it for G2) and this pattern of release pretty much guarantees that PAs will never have time to get around to it.

It's human nature, I think. People on here, at least the previous iteration of the forums, freaked out when the Dawn figure came out. Slightly less than they are now, but still. Competition/options are apparently a terrible thing.

I'm not a proponent of Competition, but I do support Options.

That said, Where are all these people "Freaking Out?"
No one was threatening a boycott or screaming and yelling.

Could anyone show me where the people who are climing they are being "forced" into buying a new figure?
