A GPU Renderer, you need a CUDA compliant graphics card, there are caveats but is a WYSIWYG system, good for architect previz setups kind of stuff :) http://www.fxguide.com/featured/octane-render-realtime-ray-tracing/

    Great thread title! :P

    Complaints!

    - Hard to find a place to live during South by Southwest
    - Landlady keeps sending me "I can't believe you objected to.." emails :blank:
    - Back is sore from moving furniture and riding the bus for hours on end
    - Didn't sleep well, probably due to stress
    - In a very hissy and bitey mood :snake:

    Non-complaints:

    - Sage sausage and coffee! :cheese:
    - No pesky emails from landlady since I unloaded on her about her infantile behavior :snake:
    - It's cold but sunny so running all over looking for a place won't be too painful
    - Have a TON of stuff to sell on Craigslist, w00t!
    - My fave music program which had been abandoned by the developer, is BACK and better than ever! YAAA HOOO!!

I should be able to get everything down to my rolling duffel bag (which is HUGE), my backpack, and a small shoulder bag of medical supplies for my diabetes and foot. I have a HUGE bag of clothes I'm going to donate to Goodwill next week, along with a few minor items that I'm not interested in dragging around with me. I *am* keeping the Wacom pad this time, though! I'll eventually need it, I'm sure. :)

Time to install content, then back up my entire HD. The backup drive comes into the office Monday for safe keeping, just in case something bad happens. :blank:

Oops, "jump the shark time". When the two leads in a love/hate relationship or even semi-platonic in a series fall in love, the series is (usually) about done.

I'm waiting for the second season of Game of Thrones to come out on DVD. I love that show but don't have HBO to watch it currently.

Click, click, click!! Taking pics of everything to sell, what a bother! :bug:

Nothing of real value but the electronics, and I'm posting those up in separate postings on Craigslist. I'm planning on a moving sale but.. might just give it all to Goodwill, only the electronics are worth anything. Blech. :blank:

...as usual missed it again though I already knew I would when I saw I was on page 102 last night.

    Complaints:

--Another long week. Woke up yesterday morning already tired and still a bit under the weather.
--Supervisor announced yesterday morning that she was leaving at noon, so much for getting out early and riding home with my warehouse manager and avoiding the usually long grueling commute by transit.
--Got little to anything accomplished as I kept having to post backorders most of the day.
--Was left with no information about handling a special "hot" order that needed to ship to the facility in Minnesota for which we were not sent the full amount of product needed.
--More fear and loathing" at our local transit system with threats of even deeper service cuts.
--First really spring-like day (see Non Complaints below) that we had and I was stuck in the warehouse all fraggin' day. Didn't get out until quarter of 6 and by then the sun was already set. Had to hustle to the bus stop as it was the last run of the day for the bus line that goes by the workplace (if missed, it results in an over half hour walk to the local transit station in an area where pedestrians are pretty much an afterthought). Jogging nearly an eighth of a mile (which includes over several rail sidings and down a rocky embankment that leads to a somewhat busy street) when you are an arthritic nearly hexigenarian is neither a fun nor advisable activity.
--Major snafu with the 30$ credit code I received from Daz to cash in on the 30$ of Dazzi-Os for renewing my annual PC membership. Apparently they also decided to put everything in the DO category on a special extra 50% off sale this week which invalidated the coupon I code was given that had a deadline of Midnight Daz Time Friday. Had to amend my CS support ticket. I want my old friendly Daz3D back.
--Still didn't win the Megabucks lotto.
--No football (college or NFL) until August.

    Non Complaints:

--The Earth was not hit by a rock from space, the mass of a crippled cruise ship and travelling at ungodly speed (Though NASA did finally admit that what happened in Russia was the result of a meteor exploding).
    --Payday (always a good thing).
--Made it home safe & sound, no near miss with a car driven by some total moron, no crowds or creepy guy on the bus to deal with, no rocks from space. Traffic was light, so I made all my connections with ease and was able to get a seat all the way home.
--Made it into the low 60s Friday for the first time this year (see complaints above).
--Stopped off at one of my neighbourhood hangouts after getting off the bus. The usuals were there including "Donut Guy" (who always brings a dozen donuts to share with his friends - mmmmmm... Donuts and Beeeeer, the Homer Simpson Power Breakfast) and one of my best sports chums. Later in the evening they (the pub) showed my all time Favourite: Dr Strangelove or How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Cool place as they like to show films on Friday night on at least one of the big screens. Any sporting events still going on are muted. All in all, a much needed relaxing and enjoyable experience.
--Slept in until 11:00am this morning. Felt great as I am totally exhausted form the past week.
--A bit cooler and more cloudy today but still dry.
--Pitchers and Catchers reported for Spring Training. (Vaya Gigantes!).

Actually, the writers are doing a fairly good job of keeping the Castle series going. It is still interesting and fun even though the lead characters finally hooked up. One of the few shows I still watch on TV.

Funny... After watching the show I tried reading the books and found myself doing the same thing. I couldn't fast forward through the episodes because I watched them when aired, but I did find myself fast forwarding through the books for the same characters you mentioned. Read all but the last book to be released. Can't say I'm a big fan of the books, but they were OK.

kerplop *tireds*. scrubbed my refrigerator today. i don't understand the technology behind the lettuce crisper, it's a plastic drawer with 2 lil vents inside the fridge. i didn't buy lettuce, the drawer is empty at the moment.

took everything off the shelves to scrub the shelves, moved the shelves to wipe down the walls behind counter and refrigerator, spiders like to leave webbie strings back there. vacuumed under the table. threw out four garbage bags of junk and scraps. started one big bin to pile papers needing shredding. i found my social security card and a resume from 1998 and a squeaky toy.

...not much of an issue here. For me it's more stress of the day job (and day to day stupidity I have to deal with both there and on my epic commute) that causes me to sleep fitfully.

Mm getting a looot of messages about starvation here from planets that say [No Farming] (They're radiated ones, so... yeah.). The game says something about using freighters to export/import food, but so far I can only see how to transport workers between worlds. Does the food import/export happen automatically?

...stopped at the corner brew pub this afternoon during Zwickelmania day (big day for craft brewers statewide - a Zwickel is a valve on the brewing apparatus which allows a brewmaster to sample the quality of the brew during the aging process).

Anyway, saw a lady there with an incredible dragon tat on her back (one of those times I wish I wasn't such a luddite and had a camera phone so I could have posted the image).

There is some great skin art at the beach today as well, there are a couple of standout dolphin tattoos tho haven't seen any dragons so far. :)
