You know the second rule is: "When in doubt refer to the first rule."

Well, you could always be up front and transparent and say "You've reached a Daz support milestone with your recent purchases."

"Your bonus/discount is based on X% of what you've spent during March Madness" That covers everyone.

Spent a little, get a little spend a lot, get a lot. Now No one has a right to complain.

You allow that bonus to build all month in case someone jumps in late, you let them catch up with a few big purchases.

Let us bite our fingernails on wether we should spend it NOW or wait and possibly miss something awesome that's onsale for only part of the month, BUT!

You still offer a lesser discount on ANYTHING that was on sale in March. So if i wait till last minute, I'm not totally screwed from MM savings.

    --------------

And on the flip, if I knew my purchases were building towards a big reward, I'd be more likely to open the wallet in hopes of a big pay-off at the end.

If you want to go SUPER-transparent, you announce the tiers in advance.

    Spend $50 (Free starter)

    spend $75 (Free bundle)

    Spend $100 ...

    $150 etc...

And you put that Bijou or whatever figure at a crazy number...probably the $244 she is now.

And the tiers get closer as you climb. And you can also let that coupon grow over the month,

And we'd all be bragging about what tier we're at and it would spurn other memebers to buy too.....

    Hell, make the membership count.

I'd feel really great about that.

Now I'm really upset, because Astracadia is upset because I'm upset, which is deeply upsetting. I'm now doubly confused as I have to keep referring to the first rule while looking for the inferred second rule. Wait, is it the second rule or the first rule that we don't talk about, or is there even a first rule, which if there isn't, that would make the second rule the first rule, thus making both the second and first rules null and void.

OK, now my head hurts, I'm confused, and doubly upset, but I don't know what I'm upset about or why I'm confused ..... I'm sure tho that this is an evil plot by the the island (well large island) dwelling contingent on this forum to undermine my confidence and self esteem at every turn. They obviously are attempting to subvert any of my attempts to be upset about something, and as a result making me upset about nothing .... I think, or maybe rule one is that I'm supposed the feel upset .... or not ... I don't know, it's time to take a nap .... I think.

  • Just curious, what deal is everyone seeing on their MM Bonus Buyer banner? This is mine. Enjoy 10% OFF* ALL PURCHASES STOREWIDE or enjoy 30% OFF items with a SKU number lower than 16000 & 30% OFF items from Runtime DNA.

That's what mine says today too. It seems to vary from day to day.

In fairness to the posters sharing their membership in Orange Banner club, most of these threads seem to go "Hey, I got a super special secret deal but it doesnt work when I put it in my cart"  and then half the people say "worked for me" and everyone else is like "wait, whut?"  I guess if the store were more stable it wouldn't come up all the time.

More seriously: they don't do this because then they are making a promise. They can't change things later.

Well, you can feel confident: stick around long enough and buy enough and you'll get rewards. Why, when I started Tween Ryan came out and I got 20% off because I had Vicky and Mike! But some people got 90% off because they had everything! I thought, "That could be me!" and $5000 later and six months later, it was!

Ultimately you can't hang too much of your good feelings on the promotions a store runs. Well, I mean, I can't. You do you and dream big, I guess! But.I feel good about shopping at Daz primarily because of the quality of the products and the customer service. They are so good about returns and refunds and credits.

They did used to do something similar, but of course, people complained because they couldn't always make use of the deals and so in the end wouldn't get the biggest discount or some such thing

Watch and see: One early Daz morning, the entire store is going on 80% off sale (including new items), and it will not discriminate (except against those who do not watch the website like a hawk). Not only this, but you shall ALL receive discounts and largesse. And you shall have to eat your words. Please, and I say this with love, be as vocal and persistent with your gratitude at that time. To each according to his need. From each according to his greed.

I think the misunderstanding here is that Orange banner isn't for people who have bought NOTHING, it's for some people who bought stuff, and due to a bug they did NOT get the Bonus Buyer status.

This Orange banner is an attempt to say "oops, we're sorry, have a freebie on us."

    That was my understanding.

Free pro pack might be kind of an extreme apology, but if I had been buying stuff the last 2 weeks and not getting the discounts, I'd probably appreciate the gesture.

Not sure that is true, a friend of mine who has bought nothing in the last couple of months got it. I don't think there is a rhyme or reason for the banner.

it seems that Daz is rewarding the "bad" customers instead of the "good" customers.

That's because DAZ already has your money.  They are trying to draw in the people who hardly ever buy anything. (Kind of like the drug dealer giving out some more free samples! :)  )   I got V6 pro bundle for free, and practically any other DO's I wanted at 80% off.

If I got the banner I'd be so excited! I'd probably get either Enchanted Bundle (it looks like it comes with 10 or 11 different sets and a couple of tutorials) or FaceGen (as a person who loves creating characters, this would be a lot of fun to have, imo). :) Either of those two would likely be my pick.

That 10% stacks witht the 10% on Gift cards today, so you can get a gift card at 19-20% off (however the math works out) which is pretty good, liek atacking 20% on top of whatever you're buying with it :)

I'm still waiting for epic discounts on the same level as the bundle bonanza last month but I assume if there's anything like that on new items it would be a very limited selection.

Not super dissapointed so far but that whole pro bundle for free thing does chap my hide, hopefully a deal like that is something we'll all see in the coming weeks.

I remember last March Madness being much better...of course I didn't have as many things as I do now, DS was still relatively new and I was on a spree ;). But I do remember it being better. *yawn*. On the bright side, I'll save myself quite a few bucks :D.

Same here. Last MM was my first too, and I was super excited. Now that I've seen more sales, they don't seem so thrilling anymore. Although, I have to admit that last christmas sale was pretty awesome, but in the mean time I suppose it spoiled many of us to expect every sale will be like it. I mean, current 50% off seems like nothing compared to those sales. Hmmm, on a second thought, I bet DAZ made tons of money during that sale, so why can't every sale event be like it? I know I spent way more than usual during last christmas sale, and I'm probably not the only one.

This MM (so far) has been disappointing.  The best 'sales' in it have been when a few pricey categories got put into fastgrab.  Nothing else has really had the discounts to really drive me to buy.

Agree completely. I've been checking the fastgrab every day, since I've picked up more things there than in the actual sale. Last MM was when I learned about Daz and started buying. The sale was insane, so I expected this one to be sort of like that as well.

I have to respectfully disagree. Christmas we had the month long 30% discount on entire catalog.

Today we have a 55+% discount on entire catalog. That's better than the 30% over Christmas by a significant margin.

Then again, I'm new, so this is my first MM. Perhaps the one last year was better...I'm just comparing to the Christmas sales which most say was pretty good. :)

Yeah, I didn't put 2+2 together until about an hour ago and realized the 55%~ish +10%-ish is storewide (they fell short of just spelling that out) so I bought another gift card (for ~20% off) and bought 5 Stonemason sets since they seem to hardly ever go on sale.

I've seen people say that last year's MM started slowly, but I can't remember. I do remember that overall it was more exciting and rewarding than this year's has been so far. But there's probably three weeks of it still to go, at least. Last year's was way better than some previous years, where they had tedious "punchcard" qualifying bollo. I pretty much sat those out.

What I really miss from last year are the multiple stacking discounts. There were some terrific bargains when DAZ Originals made by two PAs went on sale. Maybe we won't see those this time.
