Thank you very much MN-150374.
I did not see your post but that is usually the way I do it. I own GenX since Genesis and never had any problem and I have been able to transfer Leo7 or George to G3F with no problem.
Anyway I retried it with Gianni7 full morph and if the body part works the head still does nothing.
In GenX manual I didn't find anything special about transferring Pose controller morphs.
I sent a PM to Dimension3D.
Thank you again.
Where you able to get it figured out? I'm having some issues transfering some G2M to G3M as well. So I'm wondering if we're having the same issue. I'm trying to transfer Scott 6 to G3M but can't seem to figure out what the issue is that's not transfering the morphs. I'm going to have to go back and carefully read all the back and forth and see if there's a solution there.
Yes, now it works fine but I don't have Scott6 so I don't know if your problem and mine are related..
If you have the P morph setting ( https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2276606/#Comment_2276606 ) you should contact Dimension3D, he solved it for me.
I'm trying to use GenX2 for the first time. I have the genx window open. From the source, I select Genesis 2 Male. I then go the content pane and find the charcter I want to transfer from G2M to G3M. I drag the icon for applying the head onto the transfer tab. Then I set select button to transfer non-zero morphs and then I run it and fill out the name etc. Then I repeat this for the body. Then I close and restart Daz Studio. I load G3M and locate the shaping morphs that were created, but when I dial them up, the head seems to change some (so maybe it is working), but the body morph doesn't seem to do anything. Does draging the icon for loading the morphs on to the transfer tab active the morphs in GenX or do you have to check them manually?
I allso tried loading the character into my scene and then running Genx2 and telling to use the option for the figure in the scene. So I think that should create a full body morph to the head and the figure, but again the shaping morph that gets created does nothing. It changes neither the head or the body. So I must be missing a step somewhere.
Also is there away to delete the shaping morphs that I have created that do nothing.
I also noticed that when I select G2M as the source, that if I look at morphs that are loaded into GenX2 that many of my characters are listed under the actor folder (I think), so does that mean if you want to transfer them that you stil have to load them by dragging the icon on to the transfer tab, or do you just select them in the Genx2 window. For example, I see Ash listed under source when G2M has been selected. I think there was one enter for Ash....character and two that said Ash body. I tried selected the Ash chaaracter, and clicking transfer, but it give a warning that it contains no morphs.
Thanks
Well, I think I figured some of it out. After I selected the Genesis 2 Male, I then clicked on apply and then selected the icon to apply the head and then I went in to the regions and looked for any morphs that had a value other than zero. There was really only one. The head for the figure I was transferring was set to 1 and showed there was something like 38 morphs to the right of the one.
What does it mean if one of them is sort of grayed out? I see a few like that.
There was one that was labeled Delete All and it was set to -1. I did not check it.
I found in the pdf how to delete morphs that GenX created. Can I just delete the ones that don't work while Daz studio is not running? And DS won't care that they are no longer there when I restart?
Hello, did a tutorial which might help you with using GenX2, https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/262286/has-anyone-converted-gen-2-morphs-to-gen-3-using-genx
As for your greyed out, can you post a screen-shot to see what you are referring to.
Follow the advice in the manual for deleting, I normally make a backup in case something is re-needed.
Thanks for referring me to your tutorial. I was doing most of what you describe. I didn't have the people folder selected. Do I need to do that? Also, I kind of thought that since I said get values from figure in scene that it was selected the morphs that were needed to create the figure. But I guess that it is just setting the values.
I also just checked and I don't see a people folder but I do see an actor folder.
So if I load a character into my scene, and want to transfer that character from G2M to G3M, I get a screen that looks like this after I say get values from figure in scene ...
(Well, I wanted the picture to show here, but it shows as an attachment. Plus I didn't realize that you had to save the the response before the attachment showed, so I attached it 4 times and now I don't see a way to delete the duplicates.)
In any case, the only morph that appears to be set is Dusty 1, except for the one that says Disable all -1, so if I check the line that says Dusty and transfer the morph, then I should end up with a character morph for G3M that will convert him into Dusty, right? (I thought I did that but the slider didn't change anything. But maybe I didn't something wrong, so I will try it again.)
Also, why are some of the types checked in yellow, but some are not. They all seem to have a value of zero, so I'm not sure what the check mark means.
I couldn't find an example of one that I thought looked grayed out.
The item you need selected is the figure in the Scene box that you are transferring the morphs from, then you dial in the morphs that you want to transfer over.
If you are transferring a premade character over, check in your people folder in your parameters tab that the corresponding character morphs have dialled out.
In the Parameters tab you will have Actor up the top, Generation X under that (for full body morphs), and People under that. If you save a GenX morph as a head morph then you will need to look in the Head morphs for the Generation X morphs.
I had a look at the Dusty for Scott 6 character in the shop, it has Scott 6 as a required product, I don't know if Dusty on It's own will transfer over without Scott 6 being dialed in, which means you might have to import the morphs for Scott 6 as well. You could try doing both seperate to see what happens or both together. A couple of morphs that reference other figures refused to work for me when I tried to transfer them so keep that in mind.
Could not find a Disable All morph, so without knowing what it's for I would leave it out.
Refer attached screen shot to what boxes you should be ticking, as well as Scott 6 if you are bringing that in.
The only boxes you need to worry about are the ones with a non-zero number value next to them.
To edit a post click on the cog-wheel at the top right hand side of your post, click on options, then edit. If you click on an uploaded image you do not want you should be able to delete it. The forums have been playing up a bit lately and not showing the image after you load it, but then showing them after you hit the Post Comment tab.

Thanks, Bunyip02 for taking the time to help.
After your reponse, I thought that maybe I needed to transfer Scott first. So I added him to my scene. Then I said to get the values from the character in the scene. The only morphs that had values were under character. There was one that was set to 1 but showed no morphs, so I might not have selected that one, but maybe I should have. In any case, I got a morph. It would make my character big, but didn't make it look like Scott. That's why I think I should have included the one that was set but didn't show anything in the morph column. Why is it set, if there aren't any morphs? I'm thinking it must comtain some morphs. But there were no values set under head.
Then I thought that maybe I should just load Genesis 2 Male and dial the morphs in myself. So that's what I did. I had to dial the head morphs in first so they had values and dialed in the body morphs. I then transfered the character. I ended with a morph that does appear to be Scott, but I can only dial it to about 0.5. At one the character becomes massively muscular. More than Scott is.
The laughable part is that after I did all that, I found that there already is a morph for Scott's head and body that either came with G3M or came with some other product that I bought.
So anyway, I know what to try to see if I can get Dusty to come over now.
Thanks, again.
With some of the morphs they will be located in the (region) Actor of the GenX morphs instead of the head, so it pays to have a look through the different regions.
For my V3/M3/A3/H3/V4/M4 morphs I export the figure once setup as a cr2 file, then load the cr2 file into GenX, followed by a search of the regions in GenX to find the morphs that have been transferred over. I did try saving a Genesis 2 figure as a cr2 out of curiosity but DAZ Studio crashed on me.
Just found the G2M Disable All morph, in Full Body - People. Have no idea what it is related to, had a look in the data directory for clues but had no joy, if anyone else knows, please let us know.
I also tried using the method as outlined by MN-150374 on page 1, give it a go, it saves having to locate the Value files and tick the corresponding boxes. https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2189421/#Comment_2189421
Hello all! I just wanted to say thank you for this post! Somehow, I've managed to use GenX in the most inefficient way possible. I suppose I was just to timid to use the "selected morphs' option. Thanks all!
I tried to revisit this and I think I have a clue as to where I'm going wrong, but I'm not sure how to fix it. (I tried looking at the videos available but they are all for transferring V4 to Genesis.) I'm trying to go from Genesis 2 to Genesis 3. Near the top, there is a drop down where you can pick the source character. I pick Genesis 2 and the window below populates with things like Actor, Head, etc. Those I believe are the morphs. Next you have to add the character you want to convert. In the videos, they drag a character from their library over and drop it. That sets the morphs. In the videos, it is always a Cr2. But I don't have Cr2s; I have dufs. Except for the older figures like Mike 4. If I try to drag Michael 6 over to the window and drop it, nothing happens. His icon for loading him is a duf. There is nothing for him under the Poser Library. There is a load button but that only takes Cr2s. There is also a Load Pose button and that will accept a duf, but nothing still seems to get set. In the video I watched, they dragged a character called Elena over and when they dropped it, check marks got added to the first column under some of the sections. When I load a pose, nothing gets checked in the first row. So do you have to use a Cr2 for this? Or am I just dong something wrong? It seems like I have to load the figure I want to convert, but I can't figure out how to do it. I would think dufs would work, since Genx is suppose to transfer between M4V4, genesis, genesis2 and geneis 3. I thimk M3V3 can be transferred. I have that product too.
Have you tried using the method as outlined by MN-150374 on page 1?, give it a go. https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2189421/#Comment_2189421
M3V3 will convert up to Genesis 2. If you want to use a M3V3 morph on a Genesis 3 figure, convert it to a Genesis/Genesis 2 morph then convert the new morph to Genesis 3.
Thanks, @bunjp02_Carrara. You have been most helpful.
I had a breakthrough today. I have some characters that are dependant on other characters. They didn't seem to work when I tried to transfer them. Dusty for Scott was one such character. I noticed when I added G2M to the scene and then dialed in Dusty that Scott's head and body morphs were getting set. But no matter what I tried Genx2 didn't seem to pick up the Scott morphs. So then I wondered...can I set them myself? I double clicked on the value, and I got a box where I could enter a value. Then I checked the Dusty Head and Body and the Scott 6 head and body. Those morphs were all set, then I clicked transfer with the usual settings described above. And voila...I now have Dusty morph that works.
With your help, @bunjp02_Carrara, I think I'm finally getting a handle on this stuff.
Thanks again.
You're welcome, when I first started using Gen X I had quite a few EEEEK moments and struggled to get it to work. Happy to help others get to grips with Gen-X, especially those that like to play with different morph combinations !!!
I am trying to transfer Giselle 6 to G3F with GenX2 and now I keep getting this error ( see attached ) Any idea where I would find this clone morph to delete and reinstall? I am not sure if it refers to G2F or G3F, In the past I have never had any issues like this when doing tranfers of a single character morph. Could this error possiblky be due to having several different tranfer methods installed, such as Singular blues script, Redz tranfer script and also Xtranfer?
Thank for any suggestions
Edit: After spending hours trying to figure this problem out I finally found the problem .. So no one else experiencing this problem wastes their time hoping for some help here is my fix --- In your GenX tab under shaping always make sure you don't have a (2) beside your clone morph - if you do you need to figure out which is the additional one and delete it - mine was called GXC Genesis
@Kharma, Thanks for the heads up.

I do hope it helps someone else struggling with GenX :)
If you install DAZ content with DAZ Connect, it's important you click on the "Connect" "Connect Path" button on the transfer tab and set it to your DAZ Connect Library which allows GenX2 to scan your DAZ Connect library for additional usable files.
Does GenX still work in the latest version of Daz Studio? I wanted to use it. Haven't in a while, so maybe I'm not remembering all the steps, but when I open the panel, I don't get the source button.
Are the Genesis bases, plus V4, M4 etc installed in the same runtime as GenX? If not that could be the problem.
I have also heard some people get issues using GenX in the beta. If so, try running it in the normal production release.
Thanks, Havos! I think I figured it out. I apparently installed GenX2 with connect. When I re-installed with with DIM, I had the full panel then.
So if I wanted to transfer the base character D3 over to other Geneis Characters, what would I need to do? It seems like you have to check some of the morphs. Do the morphs have to have values set or can they be zero and you just check them? I just want to end up with a Genesis character that looks likd David 3. I figured I could use the morphs that come with Genesis to add muscle or definition, etc. But it seems like you are required to check some morphs and I don't see a full body morph.
Thanks again.
If you just want the base shape for Genesis 1 you should simply use this: https://www.daz3d.com/david-3-for-genesis
You need it to use GenX with David anyway, as well as the GenX add-on for D3, SP3 and F3: https://www.daz3d.com/genx-addon-gen3-for-s3-d3-and-f3
To get the base David shape just ensure any morph of David's morphs are selected, and then transfer using the option "Selected Morphs". You can delete the one morph you selected later if you want, important is to get the base David Head and body morphs over.
You can then move over the morphs you want. Personally I don't tend to bother with full body morphs that are much the same as the ones that are already available in the basic Genesis 1/2/3/8 morph packs, eg: Head size. heavy, thin etc. However moving over unique looking head or full body morphs, eg morphs for original characters, or creatures such as elfs, hobbits etc are a good idea.
Attached is David 3 on G3M using David 5's skin
I am not convinced you need https://www.daz3d.com/david-3-for-genesis to get D3 onto G2M and G3M, if indeed it was ever needed. I am pretty sure you only need the add on you mentioned and the D3 base.
Except that it's a required product for the GenX2 add-on .
I know what it says in the required products section, I am just not convinced it actually needs it.
Thanks, Havos and Leana.
I do have all the products mentions.
Here is the part where I'm not sure what to do.
I loaded David 3 into the scene. Not sure if that is required. I also drug his icon into the center box on the GenX2 panel and that populated the box. But then I have to select some morph(s). But I don't see a body or head morph. Am I suppose to select all of the morphs in those groups? Or am I doing something wrong? I thought maybe there was a base male and a morph for dialing David 3 in like there are for the Genesis characters, but I did not find a base character for the 3 characters.
Oh and your David 3 on Genesis 3 looks good, Havos.
